Tailwind Released!

Hey BP,

Just request a refilled key.

As long as the developer is making udpates, they allow you to reload them, as well as if you have system crashes, etc. The downloads are from my own site, so they are not being hit by bandwidth costs.

It looks like a cool plane, if a client hadn't backed out i would have got it on the special offer but I'll have to wait =(

Fortunately I picked up RealAir's Spitfire on Ebay for £4 last month so I'll live =D

Where? Is it combined with the battery switch? I can find no switch lablled "alternator" or "generator," although I know on some systems the switches are combined...

Oops! My bad! I just realized when looking again that the other red switch is for the Avionics buss... :blind:

Old print add kinda edit, lol.

Bill, Start from a saved default flight of the C172. I use the G1000 panel but it may not matter. In the Tailwind, either one, Battery and beacon on, mixture full and hit the starter. Then, nav lights and avionics on. By the time I get to the end of the runway and complete the run-up, the battery is dead. The first clue is a sagging attitude indicator and dead avionics.

By the way, in Texas, I really do appreciate having those water bottles.

To refresh my comment from last night, assigning the generator/alternator to a key combination does work. I have a couple other airplanes I needed to do the same thing for avionics.

Can you guys (that are having batteries run down) tell me exactly how to recreate it?

Bill, since the Tailwind does not have a separate alternator switch, you need to change the XML key_event in the SW_Master_Switch.xml to toggle both circuits at the same time...

Code:
[SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff][SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff]<[/COLOR][/SIZE][/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2][COLOR=#800000][SIZE=2][COLOR=#800000]Click[/COLOR][/SIZE][/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff][SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff]>[/COLOR][/SIZE][/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2][COLOR=#000000](>K:TOGGLE_MASTER_BATTERY_ALTERNATOR) 1 ([/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2][COLOR=#ff0000][SIZE=2][COLOR=#ff0000]>[/COLOR][/SIZE][/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2][COLOR=#000000]L:XMLSND7,enum)[/COLOR]
[/SIZE][SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff][SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff]</[/COLOR][/SIZE][/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2][COLOR=#800000][SIZE=2][COLOR=#800000]Click[/COLOR][/SIZE][/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff][SIZE=2][COLOR=#0000ff]>
[/COLOR][/SIZE][/COLOR][/SIZE]

Of course, you will also need to change the XML script used by the model(s) as well to use this key_event...

FS9 - use the partname "switch_master_battery_alternator"

FSX - assign the name "switch_master_battery_alternator" to the part.

Sweetness Bill!

Got it in FS9 and here in FSX, both fantastic. Excellent flying airplane, gotta go, didn't have time to snap many captures.

Redownloaded the F1 wrapper 5 or 6 hours ago and the retro paint is there. Did you uninstall the previous version first?

Thoe,

Make sure it overwrote all files, like the configs. Best to delete the planes an reinstall like H and Roger said.

The Flight1 file is the same name, but when you run the installer, it will say Build 1.1.
