Tailwind Released!

Tailwind W8 "Lightning Bolt - Luxury Edition" repaint uploaded to SOH library:wavey:


Comes with matching interior and such. The golden bolt parts have darker alpha so in theory they should be more reflective.

I'm new to this forum and this plane has got me back into fs again. I own a Tailwind and was wondering if one of you, who has more talent then I do, could do a repaint of my plane?

On a side note this tailwind does fly much like the real deal. The only real difference is that it slows up much easier in fsx.

Since your the owner of this little beauty, if you can take some good quality side shots, preferably without a lot of shadows, I can do a photoreal of it. Welcome to SoH!!

here one of my shots the combo on that is FEX for clouds and ASA for weather and of course the tailwind as plane :)

Can these planes be converted to FS9? I fly both sims, I just find FS9 friendlier than FSX ... (just me or just my computer maybe!)

Thanks guys (Bob, Bill & Pekka) for doing these for us... I maybe running out of space, (have to run to the store and add a stick... )

They can be converted, but I don't have FS9 anymore so I cannot test them, and I wouldn't want to upload anything that I cannot test.


To convert them basically you need DXTBMP program and some image editing program like free GIMP (Or if you have Photoshop you can get DDS plugin for it) You need to open DDS tile with DXTBMP and send it to image editing program, flip it vertically and save it with DXTBMP as BMP... they also may need to be resized from 2048px square to 1024px square...

Also my latest paint uses almost black alpha channel for the lightning bolt parts, so they might not look correct in FS9. In FSX I didn't actually notice any difference so I left them so dark.

WOW... That sounds easy.... I am a very computer challenged person, it sounded like a simple copy and paste thing, change fonts and size and presto! Colors are cool, can you make us a metallic version (any color)

Man those paints (S) are really cool, a masterpiece, not to mention the attention to detail, the key chain, the winged creature t-shirt, the drink, the canopy, the strips and colors and the angle you took the screenshots, the view... hawaiian shirt, really radical, a MASTERPIECE!!

I enjoy it... I can fly it, but a lot of times I scraped the paint, landed on the rear tire, bent a wing.... oh!

I fly alot in FS9 myself. If I get a chance (which I will soon) I'll convert these to FS9 format and post a link to them.

They can be difficult if you have never converted formats before.
