Team Outhouse 2012 RTWR Practice 2 Race Thread

A nice tailwind has become a 114 knot crosswind, which is making steering "interesting", and has meant I'm a bit short of fuel. Climbing to 34,000 to eek it out a bit. ETE about 0:40.

According to the RTWR rules a wingman who has the baton transferred to them is then the baton holder and consequently cannot fly the next leg as no pilot is allowed to advance the baton in two consecutive legs. This would mean the baton should go back to RJTT as the previous leg is invalid.

However, in the interests of moving the baton on as time is pressing, I rule the leg valid but we should avoid getting into bad habits at all costs. Any subsequent similar infractions will get the full penalty applied!

How do you lose half a wing in fsx??? :::LOL:::

It was in FS9. I had stalled out low again while concentrating on my touchdown, stalled to the left, hit the ground with the left wingtip, went full power and rolled back to the right to get back up on the wheels. The engines died and I rolled to the stop seen in the pic. I thank that's as close to a FS crash as I've come without it actually crashing.

I'm bad out of practice flying the F7F. (did a bunch of Lockheed Vega flying recently) Time to break out the carrier fleet and get some serious Tigercat time in.

Ah, sorry. I do of course know that rule, but I didn't realise it was applicable to the practice. Won't do it again (and definitely won't do it in the race!!).
