Team Outhouse RTWR 2012 Practice 1

His crash wasn't the only problem. Something happened that could cause big problems in the race if it went undetected by team members. We should all be double-checking each other to make sure we don't goof-up somewhere. All the clues are in Dave's last post.

Hey All,

Whats a few extra meters among friends? :icon_lol:

I think I'll have to see if I can still fly...

Is the baton free yet?

I'm going to try and get a leg in tonight. Real life has been getting in the way since my last one.

Ok, I'm going to race-op-check the Warbirdsim P-51C.

Have the baton, YNWN - YCIN (P-51C).

:applause: Well done Chris. :applause:

They get easier after that first one (nerves wise) although the first 'real' one in the race can usually bring back the white knuckles.

I still get all tight and nervous on approach on my first leg in a real race. :redf:

Ditto to what Larry said, Chris! There's nothing like practicing "under race conditions", where you have to put it all together.
:ernae:

Baton is free @ YCIN. That was the best landing I've ever done in the "twitchy" horsie beastie. You shoulda seen it! It was a greaser!

Just a word of caution for those used to either FS9 or FSX only, the area we are currently flying into is one of several in Flight Sim that uses different ICAO designators for the same airports depending on which sim you are using. It can get confusing and where possible we should try and identify which sim the ICAO ID is for so that the next pilot(s) know exactly where the baton is going. Adding the airport name and/or city to your baton post would also help in confusing areas like this.
