I like your thinking Paul. I was considering the northern route but as you say we need two below 40° and we can get those in NZ and Tasmania. NSFA in Samoa could be a next option (with a wildcard) then a regular leg to NFTF on Tonga and another wildcard to the NZ coast.To that end, PLCH is 1200 nm away (more or less) and has a 7000 foot runway. Just thinking out loud, studying the map over coffee.

True and Rob cunningly dropped it there to make it difficult to fly even a default plane for 25 NM to a bigger airport! :violent:But if I read Dave's rules correctly, a wildcard leg may not exceed 1402 nm... Also, the baton is currelty at HI01, a tiny airport with trees on one end and big dirt berm on the other. Fun getting a 1500 nm range ship out of that one...![]()
