I spoke too soon. Increasing the boat traffic slider to 50 had resolved the problem of the missing Nimitz with all, but the San Diego activity.

I did notice that there were 2 WX files in the flightsim zip file: Carrier San Diego.WX and Carrier San Diego..WX. I tried both these files (renaming the ..WX to .WX), and no Nimitz. I then tried the activity for San Diego in the archive link earlier in this thread (and renaming the ..WX again to .WX), this time it worked with the Nimitz underneath my Hornet. So it look like the files in the flightsim archive are wrong for San Diego, but (when the WX file is named correctly) the San Diego fiels in teh archive in thsi forum are correct.
 
I just retested all of the flights; they work on my machine, and I will make sure that Vol. 1 and 2 (when they come out together) use fresh, working versions when they come out.

I'm curious for your great work and look forward to the new version of Vol.1.

Downloaded it recetly from flightsim, but unluckily the Carriers don't appear. They seem to be beamed away, just like the philadelphia experiment.
I have already set the boat traffic up to 50%. But also in the Traffic Explorer no hint for a carrier....

I have no clue, where i should look for possible installation mistakes further.
I put the bgls inte the addon Scenery\scenery folder, also testet it, with seperate entry and folder.... They seem just not to load....

Btw., I'm using FSX SP2 with Acceleration.
Or should it be a problem with timezone, aircraft right place wrong time? My PC and also FS is GMT +0.

Phil, the aircraft has to be (a) in the right place and (b) at the right time. Have you tried any of the included flights?
 
Yes of course,
i have loaded the included flights and my aircraft was hovering in the air over water. After ending pause .... *sploosh* it became a submarine.

For testing, i loaded one of the save flights and explored the Ai Traffic. Many Aircraft and ground vehicles, but no carrier...

With the ai carrier-Tool i could place the carrier, so it should not be a general problem with the nimitz on my machine, i think.

I'm mystified. Will test all flights again, though, before publishing Vol. 2 and the updated Vol. 1.
 
I just discovered my problem with the CarrierTracksVol 2. It seems that there's some sort of conflict with FranceVFR Riviera Jetset scenery which I have installed. If this scenery is active, then my hornet is floating in air when I start David's saved activity (Carrier Marseilles), but if I deactivate the Riviera Jetset scenery, lo and behold, the Clemenceau appears under my hornet.
 
May be it is a conflict with other Sceneries?
In the Key West Area i've got different additional Scenerys (ADEs for Key West, Marhoton Key, Carribean Seaplane Tours, Military Bases, etc.).


But the San Diego Area is just pure, but there also no carrier appears or is explorable via Traffic-Explorer.

PS: This evening i'll try it with a purely clean Addon-Scenery Folder....
 
Or maybe it's another traffic file: specifically one created with FS9 tools. It's often said that even one FS9 traffic file installed in FSX will work, but it will cancel out newer traffic that was generated using the FSX tools.
 
As traffic i Use WOAI.
But there are no problems. all other traffic files, like the generic, boats, cars work properly.

i did some tests. It is no conflict with scenery.
But the carriertracks seem not to work, when WOAI is installed. After deleting all WOAI-Traffic-Files, the carriers appear.

I'll try to examine, if there is a specific WOAI file, which causes the problems... but i think there is a general conflict...

Perhaps this is a hint for others, figuring out those problems....

If the carrier tracks is done in fsx format and woai havent being converted to fsx format ( they default to fs9 ) then the carriers wont show up, its a known problem with fs9 and fsx ai traffic.

That's my guess as well. There are programs, however, -- AI Flight Planner is one -- that can convert FS9 plans to FSX format.

The WOAI Traffic-BGLs indeed were FS9 traffic. I converted them and now the carriers appear -Yeah!

Mysteriously, the always mentioned side effects of FS9 traffic in FSX i couldn't figure out -so there was no evidence for me...

But now it works everything well and I'm happy.

After starting one of the situations (e.g.Oahu...), my plane is standing in the air not high above the water surface, no carrier beyond.
What mistake may I've done during installation? Can you give me advice?
In AICarriers the ships are loadable and useable.

Two things to check:

1. Are you by chance using some FS9 traffic files? See earlier in this thread for what this means and why it's a problem.

2. Is your boat traffic set above to 5% or above?
