  • Special Server Maintenance

Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

TFC Gloster Gladiator N5903 (G-GLAD) Repaint

My pleasure! While you're at it, look at all Bombers brilliant Harvard and Mustang paints!

I'm so looking forward to what he comes up with when the A2A Harvard will be released!!

It's fun to see this old thread brought back up again! I had also recently heard mention of Stephen Grey's excellent article about the Gladiator in a recent issue of "Aeroplane Monthly" as well (perhaps the very same article, but in English?). Coincidentally, his son Nick, who has flown some fantastic aerobatic displays in the TFC Gladiator, also recently wrote a brief article on the aircraft, which can be read here: http://www.globalaviationresource.c...ng-tfcs-gloster-gladiator-mk-ii-n5903-g-glad/

The TFC Gladiator in fully aerobatic demonstration, flown by Nick Grey:

Hi Bomber_12th!
I'm pretty sure that this is the same article but translated in french...
Many thanks again for your wonderful repaint!!!
Best regards,

Stéph.

Since this is active again I have a question. Does anyone get a flickering effect on the altimeter? The layer that has the numbers and face text flickers off and on continuously.

Yes, I do!

In DX10 (using Steve's DX10 Fixer).

Was going to drop Francois a line to let him know about this.

Cheers

What a dandy little a/c. I would have missed it had it not been for this thread. :jump:

I'm surprised its not available at the new FSAddOn website. I found mine at Aerosoft.

Just splendid, absolutely splendid. Always did like the FSAddOn a/c, and this fits right it. :biggrin-new:

Same here. . .John's repaint caught my eye on this and so I read on through the full thread and decided to give it a shot. The price is certainly reasonable and it's a joy to fly.

Great paints John!

The Gladiator has a special place in Norwegian history as well, the first Norwegian aircraft to ever go into combat. The small number of Norwegian Gladiators which were part of the "Jagerwingen" (fighter flight) went into the air during the German attack on Norway on 9th of April 1940 and made several kills before having to crash or land on airfields which were under attack.

Is the paintkit available? John have you updated the paintkit? I have been thinking about making a few Norwegian paints for a long time, but I have never got started.

Those who have only just discovered the Gladiator might also like the Fury from the Hawker Heroes collection.
