That Sinking Feeling

Downloaded the New Standard Aircraft D25A from Golden Age Simulation over at Flight Sim. There seems to be a bug in the Config File as it doesn't reconize the tailwheel. It starts out with the tail sunk in the runway most of the time, and always on landings. Does anyone know of a fix for this, as I would like to keep it in my Hanger. Thanks:icon34:

Hey WP,

What you can do is copy/paste in other tailwheel settings until one comes in right that works for your plane.

It might be better to email their group and see if they have a tune for this. Someone here might come forward with a fix they have already done.

If no one does, and they do not have a fix, I can walk you through how to try out different tailwheel settings. Its pretty easy. Thats if its a suspension problem. If it only needs to be raised up, then you just tinker around with the tailwheel height setting, which is found here in the 'aircraft.cfg' file in the D25A's main folder;

Note; Top is tail gear (center gear); next two are main gear. Red is height, and blue is suspension settings, which you can copy/paste in from other planes, (if its misbehaving). Use a similar type aircraft (weight and all) for its tailwheel settings.

To increase height, increase number value.

Note2; To open the config file, right click on it, select 'Open With' and select Windows Notepad.

Spad54 (Paul) provided a replacement aircraft.cfg and model via the forums that addressed this problem. I believe it was lost in the soh crash.

Check your PM for a little help.

Thanks to everyone for quick response. Lionheart, I will save a hard copy of your contact points tip for any future problems I encounter. Dogknot, I downloaded your fix. For some reason the Aircraft Menu would not reconize the new Air Files so I just swapped out the Config Files. Took both Models for a quick hop and everything is fine. Love those lumbering old birds. Just when I think I have all I'll ever want, I find another Gem. Gonna have to build another hanger. Thanks
