The Gnat is close!

Looking good....however found one issue...external view looking down from above...if you look through the windscreen and down you see through the aircraft to the ground below....;)
After going back and checking that Jafo. . . .I don't see it. I even put the airplane in slew and from above moved the airplane across the yellow taxi lines. . .they aren't visible. What I do see in the canopy is the reflection of the ground texture but that's all. I tried with the canopy open and closed, looking down through the canopy and then from a vantage point in front to look through the fwd windscreen. . .nothing. Can you post a pic of what you see?

In P3Dv4.5 (64-bit) the strobes are too bright, and reflect off the fuselage/tail surfaces.
The cockpit glass is opaque (as shown).

I'll post a screenie...but it's not the canopy it's the windscreen specifically. ...looking down on it from above makes the panel cowl transparent...;)

NM, I see what you're talking about. I'll ask Ulrich about it.

Back on computer....here's a screenie [FSX] .... note...I am talking about the visor only..not the canopy...shows a hole....in this pic...far right [obviously]...you can see the river through the plane clearly....naturally very easy to tell when in motion...;)

BTW...if you angle it right you see the inside of the fuselage floor...so seeing the scenery is actually down and to the side...looking out of the side panel of the fuse.

Here it is marked....

Dave, I found a smaller beacon effect and replaced the current one for the two on the spine. I also added a white strobe at the tail. As for the beacon reflection you spoke of, wouldn't the light emitted by the beacons still bounce off the exterior surfaces in RL?

For the canopy. . .technically your canopy isn't opaque, it's transparent. . .albeit not as transparent as you may want it so I'm playing with the alpha channel for that texture to see what looks better.

In P3Dv5.1 -- the canopy glass is a lot better, and so are the lights.

Thanks for doing this, Ed! Looks like I'll need to dust off P3D!

Now, the important part: Is there a Hot Shots livery? ;-)

Sorry, nothing like that in the release. I'm sure somebody will knock one out though.
I did give this a try and most of it works, however the coolest thing about the livery is how they painted the slipper tanks to look like Gattling Guns, lol. . . .but because of the way those tanks are mapped I was only able to get two ports on top, two on the bottom and none to fill in the spot on either side. . .too bad cause it would have looked great.

Down to checking each of the liveries, gathering the gauges and effects that will go with them, double checking the readme to be sure credits and info have been updated and adding a few decals to the Red Arrow livery I missed. I hope that by tomorrow evening I can have it uploaded to the SOH Warbirds Library.

Great job a real blast - cheap thrills! Long overdue and to have this little pocket rocket in the sim is just wonderful. This is in P3DV5.1

Nice shot. I don't have P3D so I wasn't able to test. I knew it would be fine in earlier versions but nice to see it makes it into V5 as well.

I've said it before... Of all the non-naval aircraft the producers could have picked from this was probably the best choice. If you squint it actually resembles an F-11 Tiger!

The package has been uploaded!
No luck with the holes in the model then. That grey you see looking down on the visor [windscreen] is the clouds, aka background.
I think I'd prefer the autogen issues you get with non native models when looking through the glass...;)
