The new Carenado Do228 looks great.

Never heard of a Do 228 says it all............... Only the smaller 100 model, which is a 15 seater, not the 19 seater 200 model that most airlines flew. No 200 or the newer NG or NXT model included. Looks like a typical redo of their FSX model....... , little systems depth. Can't say I get excited about Carenado these days........ I suppose for the price point it's OK, as a 'get in and fly aircraft' that suits some..... Used to fly on the real thing when I lived on the Isle of Man...... No doubt there will be a plethora of incorrectly assigned repaints to it.........

I'm one of the "some." I love a good $60 systems sim, but I also love a good-looking model of a great airplane that flies reasonably realistically (even though I'll never get to reset a circuit breaker). I also apologize in advance for the 100% chance I will incorrectly assign a fictional repaint to it. I'm also going to fly it on completely incorrect routes in incorrect weather conditions. Sometimes, I'm going to fly it like an absolute madman. ;)

My sincere hope is that the next typical redo of a Carenado FSX model is the B1900D. I love this hobby.

Each to their own - that's the joy of the Sim. But I believe Carenado could do a whole lot better if they applied themselves a little. It's just the same old thing, regurgitated to make a quick buck........ never seem to push themselves to do better - so a stagnant company to me. They look beautiful, but as in life, beauty is only skin deep. ps. I get an undertone of you thinking I'm attacking you personally and you are taking umbrage, which I am not. Just offering an alternative viewpoint............ surely that's allowed without you getting you seemingly having to get your knickers in a knot about it?

No knotted knickers at all (thus the winkyface emoji). I totally get where you're coming from, and I know it wasn't a personal attack. I was just pointing out why I still enjoy Carenado's (admittedly somewhat lazy) offerings. I get a little too sarcastic sometimes and forget that it doesn't always come across correctly in text. No offense intended and none taken. (y)

Now I've got all the KTX2s downloaded from VFSprojector, and I'm off to see if my limited painting skills will let me get my custom colors and logos on this thing. Someday, I really need to figure out how to paint in 3D.

I think there’s absolutely room for both ends of the scale. Love a lot of the Carenado stuff, also love Black Square, there’s room for all sorts. I’m just waiting for BS to release the Commander 114 and Carenado to regurgitate their Tri-Pacer.

Not a fan of Lionheart's Pacer series then?

The Carenado Dornier does indeed look great, but I'm stacked out with new aircraft at the moment. Just Flight's Fokker 70/100 is getting a big update tomorrow, so I'll be focused on that for the next week or so.
