Something with twin engines of a passenger type. Another hint please....
The middle picture in the top row shows one of the hydraulic cylinders in a rather complex main landing gear assembly whose use is optional not compulsory! ;)

You were correct that it is a twin-engine, civilian, passenger aircraft, additionally it was manufactured from 1946 to 1951. It was replaced by a larger version of the same family line that eventually had four aircraft in it's heritage and they all had avian names.

Pete got it. It is my own LDR FSX Grumman Mallard that I am converting to P3D v4+ standards with PBR textures. I still have a bit of work to do with the textures and the 'chrome' material from FSX is looking a bit 'odd' in P3D so I have to do some research to find out if the 'recipe' changed between the two sims.

Regarding the family line and avian name clues there were four aircraft released in sequence over several years and all were named after water-fowl or sea birds. It started with the Grumman G-21 Goose in 1937, then the Grumman G-44 Widgeon in 1941, the Grumman G-73 Mallard in 1946 and finally the Grumman HU-16 Albatross in 1949. All aircraft featured twin engines mounted to a high wing with stability floats mounted under the wings.
