Sweet

Is that the Aerosoft f-16 Correct?

Man I may Need to reload thatone, I have Forgotten All About that Gal!!

Peter,

Have you found that F-16 a bit over powered? I find myself cursing around at less than 70% RPM to stay within the FAA speed restriction of 250 knots below 10,000 feet.

I took a Cat-III bird with external tanks and bombs up to mach 2 and 80,000 feet.

I'm no F-16 driver, but it seems like with that kind of performance we don't need F-22s!

Anyone tried making this aircraft a bit more realistic? Or is that as real as it gets?

Chris

Military fighters are exempt from the 250 kt rule, and normally do 350 below 10,000...unless they're on an MTR.

I've found it accurate, full load like what is shown yeah it's a "home sick angel" but I can keep it under 350 over urban population as shown I dont go supersonic to save there windows lol, I'm completely addicted to this Jet the best ever made as far as I'm concerned! Plus I have no American F-16's in my sim only euro birds infact I only fly the Dutch, Belgian and Greek variants guys!

I've been flying the Aerosoft F-16 alot too. Here's the 93rd Fighter Squadron "Makos", from Homestead AFB, Florida...where I was born.

Thanks for the info Bone! I'll be happy to pass that along to the Air Traffic Control server that I fly on. I'm tired of flying near idle. I suppose military fighters must exempt themselves under the "minimum safe airspeed" clause. Or perhaps there is a letter of agreement between the
FAA and the military concerning the issue. It would be interesting to know.

I do my real world flying in an area that is along a MTR used by A-10s. Keeps my head on a swivel, I'm sure one of those coming by at 300 knots could ruin my day.

Cheers,

Chris

It's not a letter of agreement, it's in the FAR-AIM. Also, T-38's do 300 knots in the pattern, even in ATA's of class C and D airspace, where the speed limit is 200 kts for the rest of us.

You cannot fly over urban centres in Britain and when you do it's a strict noise rule infact there's no speed limit as such but a noise limit if you break that u get fined
and even your license revoked 200-300 is about the limit I think but I'm not sure only real world jockeys will know!

Yeah, it's not going to get anywhere near that kind of performance, even without the DT's and bombs. Of course, the problem is in gathering accurate flight data. Even having the manuals only solves half the problem.

I love to have the manual, flight test data, and pilots reports if available. Knowing acceleration times for a given load-out at various flight conditions, like a standard day for the weather and it takes 37 seconds at 40000ft to accelerate from M=.91 to Mach=1.13 is the kind of data that is really helpful. I have some data like that for the F-101B, which is why I was working on it's FDE.

My point being, it can be very difficult to get a realistic FDE, especially for an aircraft that is still in service. But it is a beautiful model.

And thanks to Bone about the speed allowance for military aircraft below 10k ft, as I had always wondered about that, but hadn't found anything definitive on it.

Bone,

This pilot stuff is just one thing after another to learn. Thanks for the info.

Cheers,

Chris:salute:

No prob

The noise abatement procedure out of John Wayne/Orange County airport in the Los Angeles area is very strict. They even have accoustic sensors along the departure path, and if you exceed the noise tolerance your squawk code gets pinged in the sensor log...and then you get in trouble.
