The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Hi Ferry_vO, thanks for the link. The one in the le Bourget Museum is labeled as the De Rougé-Chabrilland-Descroix DCR-001. It was built in 1937. but never flew.
The last one I know of is the Bouvet-De Rougé Elion, which is described as a Mignet HM-14 with the De Rougé control system. It apparently made some flights in 1947. I never saw a picture of this one.

Your post depicts the Vanguard Model 2 (2C or 2D)

Wout is pounding down that ale.

I wonder what the theory of the tall 'sail' was ? I suppose the fact that it didn't exactly spawn a rash of imitators speaks for itself.......

Lefty's comment made me think of this "sail" plane. :icon_lol:

It did fly!

Was designed by a test pilot for a famous French Company. The general fuselage and tail layout should yield a clue...

Unusual glider at that!

This is the Domenjoz Sail Plane of 1929. John Domenjoz was of Swiss descent who ended up in France testing and flying Bleriot aircraft. He later emigrated to the USA where he designed the Sail Plane. It's still housed in a museum in Maine.

Hi Guys,

I need your help here.
My uncle claims he saw a plane go in for a landing at the Geilenkirchen AWACs base a few years back.
He made me a sketch.
4 push props, canard wing.

I hope somebody can help me, and maybe present a picture of the real plane.

Thanks guys.

Rob

I'm not the world's leading pusher expert, Rob (he's probably here soon) but I feel the mystery pusher is most likely to have been the Piaggio Avanti

Only two pushers, but the memory plays tricks.........

You seem to know which ones are ambiguous. Can't remember seeing this one before. Looks Americanish-well except for the engines.

Thanks Lefty.

He thought it might be russian, and he was certain of 4 pushers....
I promised to try and find out, maybe here is the place to find an answer.

Cheers, R.
