The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Not a Farman or French. It started out as a trimotor and was later converted into a twin. From a very small firm that produced several designs from the early to mid 1930's.

Not American.

Here she is sitting on the ramp...

I'm 99% certain the original trimotor was the CNA Delta, but I'm not sure if the designation changed after being converted to a twin engine.

You got it John. Nice detective work there.:icon29:

This is the one and only CNA Delta Twin. I found reference to a later version powered by de Havilland Gipsy engines but have no proof of that. This one had the Fiat radials. There is a one sentence mention in Thompsons Italian book but that is it.

Over to you-

Here you go. It has Mr. Apostolo's watermarks on it. He has a lot of rarites scattered across the net.

Since we are not benefitting financially from this photo, I see no harm in removing the names for the sake of the game.

Finally one that I recognise :jump: .... the Pereira GP-5.

I'm amazed at the knowledge of the team here to recognise the pics in this post.

There's obscure aircraft I've never even heard of let alone seen pics of.

I can't match your guys knowledge and if I can ask someone to post the next pic please.

Pete.

Hi Pete :salute:
The Pereira GP-5 it is :icon29:
Like earlier designs (GP-4, GP-2 Osprey etc.) construction was largely wood.

As requested by Pete, OH please

Thanks, (at last) for an easier one ! It's one of the Douglas BTD-1 prototypes with the experimental air brakes - don't think I've seen a pic of those in action before.

I wondered if the 'tail feathers' were more for making sure that the bombs etc didn't hit the real tail!
Very interesting.
Keith
