The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Right, time to refresh. The mystery is a Hungarian Lampich L-9 of 1930.

Turning the clock back, this next one is neither Hungarian or from Eastern Europe...

Well, Kevin, dear boy, we are still out here, at least this one is. The silence is due to the fact that you have thrown what you chaps would call a couple of curve balls, or in our terms, googlies. Quite obscure, methinks, particularly that Lampich. My 1931 Jane's declares that there is no Hungarian aircraft industry!

Despite the fact it looks very Breguet-ish, I think I have ruled out France, Italy, Britain and Germany as sources of your latest obscurity. This basically leaves dear old Uncle Sam, and I'm getting nowhere there either.

I do hope you are not intending to comport yourself like this throughout 2009, or else I shall take up crochet as a hobby.:banghead:

(I've just noticed - we've lost our ON/OFF signs & gone back to wee green lights)

Okay, It's a Burnelli-Continental or Continental KB-1 from 1916.

Here is a much easier one....I hope!

:icon29: for Lefty ............ what kind of Cigarettes was Albert Ball on when he scrawled the design on the back of the Packet, I wonder............

Over to you................

Thanks. Just shows, the French don't have a monopoly on ugly kites.

This one ain't too pretty either....

Definitely German. Thought it might be a Junkers 85, but it doesn't seem they ever built any. It's certainly got a Junkers tail!

That is the Berlin B9. It was an experiment to test the position of the pilot- in this case, lying flat to reduce g stress.

I will be gone until late tonight or possibly tomorrow and don't want to hold things up.

Here is the next one-

A cold one for Grumpos on the one-off Gloster! Good to see you back in these parts.
