The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

That's correct BG! :applause:

What about the above lot?

Bach 3-CT-6

The top plane is a Bach 3-CT-6 after its transformation to sesquiplan, as used in Honduras by the United Fruit Company.

The other one I don't know.

Right you're Danpub.....I found both bottom pics on Flickr and they're both tagged as "Bach 3-CT-6" for which I wouldn't put my hand on fire as Flickr tags are often wrong. On the other hand I found no trace on AeroFiles re above items...is anyone of you gentlemen able to cast any light on this apparent mystery?
Cheers
BG

From a quick search it seems the twin-engined one is a converted Bach 3-CT-9, nicknamed the 'Banana Sprayer'. Looks like this air yacht was used with just about every engine available... One, two or three engines, inline or radial and even with different engines under the wings than on the nose!

Yes I'm here, and I did not expect it was my turn. I found only half of BG's quizz.

Anyway. A slightly different challenge: which air force uses this marking on its planes, and why?

Well, Dan, it wasn't difficult to know where to look ! It's from an Israeli F-16 used in a mission against Iraq. The black bits are supposed to represent a nuclear facility.

Right, this is the Operation Opera mark worn by the F-16s which destroyed the Tammuz-2 reactor, the A-bomb factory sold by Jacques Chirac to Saddam Hussein.

The mark is an Iraqi cockade with the silhouette of the reactor.
Your turn :icon29: :icon29:

Could it be the Northrop X-21A based on a Douglas WB-66D airframe with a laminar flow control wing?

If so, OH please. I won't have much access to my PC today.

Well, Ferry, I think it's a neighbour of yours , a Stampe & Vertongen, but I am a bit confused as to which model exactly. SV22 ?

Thanks, Ferry, let's go back to the water....here's a dashing chap posing with his water baby. Someone's worked hard at putting a shine on that engine and prop.. pity he hadn't pressed his officer's pants...
