Yes, BG, you know how the Inuit have 50 words for snow, well, here in Scotland we have about 500 for rain........'chucking it down' means the same as bucketing, lashing, pelting, stotting, pi**ing down, etc etc.
And the reason for today's weather ? Yesterday I helped my neighbour install an automatic watering system........![]()
That seems the best possible application for Dr Johnson's aphorism - 'the triumph of hope over experience'!
I'm glad to say it's cooler here today, only <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:AllowPNG/> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings> </xml><![endif]-->29⁰ in the shade - although in the sun at 13:00, when I returned to the car, it was reading <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:AllowPNG/> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings> </xml><![endif]-->37⁰. You're welcome to the <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:AllowPNG/> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings> </xml><![endif]-->8⁰ difference, if it helps you, lefty. Perhaps I can send it in an insulated package?
