The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

That, sir, is one of Mr Alfred Verville's early designs, which mostly seem to appear under his own name and also that of the General Aeroplane Company. 1915.

I have just finished constructing a kit aluminium greenhouse, and, looking at this photo, a floater like this would be a lot easier - and no glazing.......

No, Uli. The pouchel is so minimal that you'd probably be able to build two from Mike's left over parts! But the concept of a flying greenhouse is not too far from reality. Friends had one in a gale last winter. Fortunately they were not at the controls when it took off as its landing left much to be desired. Like Mr Verville's aeroplane, their serre volante crashed on its first flight. Maybe they built a pouchel out of what was left!

I can see the headlines now - 'Presumptuous Pictish pioneer pilot perishes in prototype's precipitate plunge '

Mike has it with the Verville build. The official designation is the General Gamma L.

Over to Scotland!

Recycling is all the rage nowadays, so I'm going to shamelessly recycle an old mystery ship - Walter knows it, but let's see who else can catch this cantilevered chappie....

Carlo, nobody else is biting. I think it is too hot in Europe (yes, even in Scotland) for people to concentrate properly....

However, Campari soda in hand, I'll declare this is the Lombardi LM.7
