Sorry, but answer is only 99,9999% correct. It is the PJ-1, the aircraft in original form. After modifications she became PJ-1A (see photo with PJ-1A on tail). Note the reduced glass area.
Nevertheless, nothwithstanding and despite the missing 0,0001%, please go ahead with the next one

It's the SP I. Chester lost his life in a later version apparently. Takes a bold pilot to fly these little twitchy numbers!

Thank you Kevin. I think Art Chester was indeed killed in Swee`Pear II (also named ARC-Air Race Chester) N4000K in 4/1949

This small staggerwing biplane had a relatively short life. Not shown in photo, but she had a registration (no remkoved by me)
