You're probably over thinking this, only 1 is Saunders built, with Consuta ply. I'll leave this up overnight for any of our transatlantic cousins to have a go at before revealing the answer.

the aeroplane is Sopwiths Bat Boat.

Who: John Montague Batting, designed both hulls.

Where: Cowes. One hull built by Saunders, the other by J S White (White's were building aeroplanes under the name of Wight Aircraft at same time)

What: The name, both are named Batboat after the hull designer, strictly speaking T. O. M Sopwiths design should be written Sopwith-Batboat. Both are a stepped hydroplane hull.

I hardly deserve it. What I did identify was probably apparent to most of the 'usual suspects' on this forum. But rather than argue the toss, I'll offer the following oddity which, I suspect, will be susceptible to rapid identification!

Carlo, this one is a bit older having been tested and flown in 1917. You have the right country of origin though. (My ham-fisted photoshop job on the fin fooled no one!)
