• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Some of us, Mike, are still lurking around.....

It was typically noble of you to leave a clue or two here, so I energised my detective genes - as a long time birder, I immediately recognised the Puffin on the tail. No British machine of that name, and in any case I jaloused that the scenery below was Continental, and, knowing its source, probably French...

Next stop was the dictionary. 'Puffin' is apparently 'Macareux' (not such an endearing name). Only one avion of that name was found, by a M Jean Noan , reg F-PNJJ

Walter engine, and two configurations - the 2-seater shown, and a rather flash single-seater à la mode de Caudron.

Congratulations on your successful sleuthing, Mike. You are correct on all counts. It is the Noan JN22/29 F-PNJJ. Despite it being (in my opinion) its most attractive form, I eschewed photographs of it in single seater format because these are most numerous. But that didn't defeat you! So it's over to Ecosse!

Thanks Mike.

Actually we have been pretty busy of late - this old house is needing quite a bit of refurbishment and, oddly, I'm finding that any task I undertake is very slow, and often quite painful !

Here's a scarce floater that has been here some years ago - good luck...

Don't think Italy would allow any industrial development around its finest scenic lake, Mike !

You are both way off-beam and should aim a lot further west, gentlemen.

I have seen this one before but have not had a chance to look for it yet to confirm.

Should be USA Sir.

Thanks Uli.

On with a twin...
