Dear boys and girls!
through the a.m. URL you will reach a serbian site "VVKJ i PV" instrumental in listing a rather Comprehensive (if not conspicuous) roster of local made aircrafts.
According to the above the picture shown in my previous post reads"Rogozarski SI-Xip" explaining furthermore that the fitted engine is an inline Walter Major 4.
Following further researches undertaken by the undersigned I feel I can't confirm or deny VVKJ statement this being the one and only site where I found the published picture.
In view of the above and pending a moderator's Agreement I am of the opinion that Lefty should be considered the winner as quite some time and efforts were spent by him on this riddle.
On the other hand should somebody provide me (us) with more adequate information please do come forward!
Cheers BG

Thanks BG - yes I did quite a bit of research, including the SIM-X and its variants - (the Wikipedia entry includes one called the SI-GIP) - the description tallies completely with the one on your Serbian site, except for the fact that all the SIM-X's are monoplanes looking nothing like this one !

I suspect we need some input from an expert in the Balkan field.......

In the meantime, let's have an easy one.

I am very fond of tripe, so here's one !

Hi Lefty
Yes it would be nice to have a confirmation re my previous post....
Well I like tripe(s) too especially in tomato sauce ( or has that something to do with Von Trip? ) but unfortunately I do not know your beautiful triplane....
BG

PS Well she looks like a Bristol Pullman to me!

Thanks Lefty!
and here's my next and last offering for the day.....
This fellow was built in a large country in Southern Europe and his tail is a real giveaway....
Cheers

Can't find any matching photos. If it is a 3 or 4, this is a new one to me.

Edit: Going with a 4.

Hi boys and girls!
Both Moses and Lefty are correct....
this is a prewar (I mean WW2 not spanish civil war) version of the (AISA) Gil-Pazò 4 exactly number 30-177 (the pic was shot in 1940) still fitted with the original german Hirth engine.
Moses was the first to reply therefore the turn is yours dear friend....
BG

BTW "aviation corner" is a very good site for spanish and built in Spain aircrafts even better if you understand spanish as translation might be dodgy at best!

The plot thickens, I fear, BG ! As Moses will confirm, Howson's 'Aircraft of the Spanish Civil War' does indeed mention 30-177, but as an entirely new design by Pazo, the P-IV,which would explain the differences !

The sole GP-4 was 30-20.

I think the Aviation Corner site has confused the GP-4 and P-IV, which are actually different aircraft........

Anyway, over to Moses !!

Incidentally, ironic that Senors Gil and Pazo were on opposing sides in the Civil War... what a mess that conflict was.

Good, if we are to believe Mr. Howson we have now discovered a new aircraft the Gil-Pazò GP-IV (not 4)!
I'm indebited to Lefty indeed for this finding....

You've got to be sharp to beat us youngsters to the punch, Chris !:mixed-smiley-010:

(The IIa was a bit different and had its 3 Maybachs buried in the hull, driving props through shafts)
