Can't believe how flimsy those engine supports look. I doubt if a bicycle made from tubing like that would support yours truly !:jump:

This one was at the 1937 show. From a French designer and powered by a 50 CV Train. Can't find anything else this person built.

..... nor are the tail feathers. I had been thinking along similar lines!

I assume that the salon at which this aeroplane was exhibited was the 1ere Salon de Bruxelles. There was no Paris Salon in 1937. So far I've only been able to find one relatively short report on the Brussels Salon and, unfortunately, it mentions nothing in the avion de tourisme section that looks anything like this mystery aeroplane. But I'll keep on trying.

Hmm, I think I have misled you by accident since I didn't know there was not a 1937 Salon.

Will reveal now as I don't know much more about it. This is the Regnier 12. Developed by Charles Regnier in 1936-37. I am assuming if he was related to the Regnier engine company then his monoplane would not have a Train motor!

It is listed at the goldenyears site as a "Regnier 1" but this is wrong as you can plainly see "12" on the tail fin.

Open house please-

Edit: PH posted as I was posting and he identified the Regnier! Well done Mike.:very_drunk:

Thank you, Kevin.

This little aeroplane certainly knows how to confuse. The report I read described a Régnier 1-2 being at the Brussels Salon. Searching against that drew a blank. I found it on the Belgian Wings wings website, where there is a good photograph of it (http://www.belgian-wings.be/Webpage...zz/Regnier R-1 OO-REG/Regnier R.1 OO-REG.html). There also it is described as the Régnier R.1. If the constructor was Charles Régnier, presumably there was no obvious connection with the French aero engine company, as that was founded by Emile Régnier.

I'll endeavour to post something new this evening.
