• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Thank you BG, another hot day forecast here today, so appreciated!
This one is new to me, but I expect others will know it instantly!

Thank you for that. But fortunately, Keith, today it's not too hot 'oop north' in 79. There's a pleasant breeze blowing in through the western window. But enough of the météo. I'll search for an interesting next challenge and post that later today.

Ahhh - wasted time looking through my Bernard book, before the penny dropped. It's the Tokyo Gasu Denki K.K. long range monoplane,

Well, I have to throw a curve ball once in a while! Anyhow, lefty, you're spot on - although I know it as the Gasuden Koken-ki, but I suspect that's only a variation on the basic theme - so please take it away.

A floater - not a rare machine, but not much to go on in this photo.

I expect it to last about half-an-hour !

(sorry this image is so small - tried a larger one and it just would not load - this one took 10 minutes !)

Tried again and at this rate I'll be six feet under by the time this wee photo uploads. Something wrong here...... better declare OH

Not sure a larger pic would help me with that angle. (Something German perhaps?).

Mike- you should try to imbed the larger image. See if that works.

My mind was working around one of the submarine catapult launched aircraft, but none of those recorded match the biplane in the photograph. So presumably it's one launched off a ship's catapult?

Not entirely sure what you mean by 'imbed' - you mean link from a photo-hosting site ? Have done this before but find it a bit cumbersome - will persevere with the old-fashioned method. If the goalposts have been moved in terms of size of attachment, wish someone would tell me!

'In the attachment window you will find a list of the allowed file types and their maximum sizes.' Not in mine you won't !

You got it, G :very_drunk: Over to you.

(I had actually given up waiting for the upload - the wee arrow was going round and round for just over half an hour, so I abandoned the post. Next time I looked - there was the image. Bizarre. May be a Firefox thing, though - the more updates there are on Firefox, the more glitsches appear. Anyone else use it?)

Thanks Lefty. I also use Firefox, dunno what version, but I always ignore their updates. What I find odd here is that when I have the "Insert Image" box up I cannot click on the "Select Files". Instead I have to go to "Basic" or "Uploader" and once you select and upload I have to delete the thumbnail image otherwise the same image is repeated in the post when you Submit Reply.

From the late nineties. Wikipedia says only one was built as a result of vibration problems in the piston engine-propeller extension shaft. Subsequent versions were powered by a jet engine.
