"Has anyone had issues with the flaps? First 2 clicks work great. But , if I go beyond that to full flaps, even at idle, it crashes (over stresses the airframe). And that includes while trying to taxi to the runway. I know I don't need full flaps for anything, but just wondered if anyone esle had this happen?"

I think the cause is this setting in aircraft-cfg:

i change that value to 1 and the last position work fine

Of course I will include this in the update. After reading this I went back and looked at my realism settings. Guess what was turned off...:icon_lol:

Having a lot of fun with this aircraft Robert! Thanks again for your hard work:ernae:

Thanks, I don't ever use full flaps, so it wasn't a problem for me. (I did check it in flight though and full flaps causes no problems here). I posted more to make a point that being a bit more specific would help.

Robert,

Just another note to say thanks for sharing this! You did a beautiful job on the model, and I love the flight modeling! The way it handles at low speeds feels really convincing.

It's really neat to finally get to fly it after watching its development all this time. I'd kind of figured it was going to be like the AIDC F-CK-1A Ching-Kuo -- super impressive but being perfected forever. :) So it's a nice surprise to get to actually fly it!

Really fun to fly, and I my new default go-to plane for flightseeing. :)

For the record. I always create a copy of the default texture folder. Then I rename it to whatever, and overwrite the files inside whenever I do a repaint. Same process for adding others who have shared repaints of different models.

Properly configured Texture.cfgs work just as well and keep the download and installation size of any repaint down.

We're on the same track. Although I don't worry about it on my hard drive.

Messing with fire. (right-click "view image")

That looks hot!

:running: <--- getting away from the things now being thrown my way!

The above is what I showed you the other night. I stepped back and decided to redo it. Hand drawn airbrushed flames are a real pita with just a mouse.

The real trick is in the spec. I'm not in a hurry, but I will get it figured out ;)

Hand drawn airbrushed flames are a real pita with just a mouse.

When I did the flames on my Epic Flame paint I used the pen tool in PShop to draw the outline and pulled the bezier curve points and handles to get the desired shapes. Then I filled the shapes with a gradient to get the flame colours and shading.

Looks nice Larry. For a small thumbnail. Regardless the size. I know, a lot of messing around.

I'm not too keen on using a gradient. Even though I could make a custom one, or a custom paintbrush to get it over with. I been trying my damnedest to get it sorted all by hand blending

Finally got a chance to check out the paint OleBoy did for me.

I love it! Thanks OleBoy and Robert! :ernae:

Prop? :mixedsmi:

Looks like that one's got a wooden one with white tips? Can't really tell too well from my photo of it.

The intake needs to be white. I was wondering if the prop was wooden/laminated also. You make the call and I'll change it. I searched all over for other photos due to the prop dilemma and, no such luck

EDIT; I made the prop look like laminated wood the best I could as a trial and loaded it in the sim just now. Rob has made the prop thin like aluminum, or whatever the alloy is. He also modeled the twist, and pitch into it. So, a wooden prop is not a good idea.
