The worlds Most Beautiful Car?

i think that car is a gorgeous work of art, and if i owned it you can be sure i'd drive it.

an automobile from a time when curvy was most desirable in the eyes of men. Looking at a car like this makes one lament the slim, simple direction human attraction has gone, when the cars and cover girls leave plenty to be desired in the most important aesthetic quality– shape.

i concur most whole heartedly with the sentiment behind this statement. cars and women both, should have curves imo. i never did like the anorexic waifs. what real man desires a woman who's built like a 10 yr old boy? a beautiful curvy car, that is quite attainable would be the 67 buick riviera. it's a beautiful thing when cars, and women, have hips

In my mind the 3 most beautiful automobiles ever built are:

1953 Buick Roadmaster Convertible, Cream and Black

Volkswagen Karmen Ghia, any color

1985 Yugo GV Convertible, light tan on medium tan on dark tan

OBIO

I was kidding about the Yugo by the way.

N4gix, For some reason you have uploaded a picture of one of the most elegant, advanced, and aerodynamic cars ever produced.
Must be a simple little error...finger trouble perhaps :d

It's interesting to Google "most beautiful car ever..."
They tend to be sports cars.
Lots of Ferrari's - my pick: the 288 GTO because I was just the right age at the time
Don't forget the Ford GT40 either
Or the 1964 Corvette Stingray
Very often, the E-type Jag, (that Spitfire amongst sports cars)
And pre-dating Naki's opener by 10 years, how about the 1937-1939 Talbot-Lago Figoni-Falaschi coupe:

Definately have to put a vote in for the early Jaguar E-types, followed closely by the 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO. Gosh there are to many cars to choose from really.

OK, I'll concede on my GTO. ;)

1937-1939 Talbot-Lago Figoni-Falaschi coupe

62 thru 67 Jaguar E-Types... coups and roadsters

36 Auburn 852 Boattail Speedster

39 Cord 810 Westchester and 37 Convertible Coupe

1936 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Cabriolet

This Stang does it for me ...

But if I had to pick an all-time favourite, this would be it ...

The almost un-attainable Bugatti Veyron ...

Another classic, the Jaguar D-type:

I could go on for hours! :jump:

I'm diggin that TR-6 behind and to the left of the Jag. In my mind beauty and functionality go hand in hand, and why I can't love a Jag (a complete electrical disaster). I have to stay with what I know, the simplistically elegant and powerful Bimmers (Benz went the overcomplicated route but built many beautiful automobiles).

Someone mentioned an Auburn ?

;)

I was wondering when someone would mention the Veyron :). There's a guy about 50miles from me who was fortunate enough to buy one (cost him €1.7m including taxes) and the garage he bought it from put it on public display before it was collected. An awesome car no doubt....but not exactly beautiful, imho. Most beautiful hypercar in my mind is the McLaren F1...

Honourable mention to the most beautiful car I've ever had the pleasure to drive which was a Ferrari 355 Berlinetta. The sound...ohhh...the sound! :d

Oh, I'll grant you the body itself is not bad to look at, it's the silly bullet-shaped turn signal lights on the rear roof, as well as the rediculous turn-signal flags that extended out of the side pillars that destroyed the looks for me...

The Deux Cheavaux was IMHO the truly ugliest car in the past, but the "honor" for that now belongs to the Kia "Soul" which is truly a study in ugly... :)
