Tims new plane is out. (J7W "Shinden")

Might it be possible that the elevator isn't moving into the right direction? It's just reacting as if it was still *behind* the turning-axis but actually it has to be right the other way... hope you know what I mean. The animation should be fixed so that the paddle goes down when turning the nose up. Or is my aeronatical knowledge just messing up at the moment?

Your thinking is correct. For the nose to go up, as in a turn, the canard must create more lift, therefore the elevator has to move trailing edge down to increase the camber and hence lift. To go nose down, the canard has to decrease lift, or actually, create lift that pushes the nose down, so the elevator's trailing edge has to go up and create negative camber, therefore negative lift, pushing the nose down. ;) However, I checked it last night and I thought that's what Tim's model was doing, but now I'll have to go check again. Of course, I only checked in the external view, I didn't pay attention in the VC. It's abeautiful model and I enjoy flying it.

These paints are great. The idea of using the Shinden for airraces makes it just more worthy to download this nice piece of work, especially when these paints will be finished and also available for download. I would guess they still need some finetuning (and some weathering would be an excellent finish). Keep up the good work, both Tim and Jetstreamsky.

Nobody knows if any of those gauges are representing the manifold pressure ?
I would really like to add the FSX Acceleration engine damage to this bird....
 
The Manifold pressure gauge is the one with the half red on the far left side of the cockpit. This one looks to be in inches, though I have some recollection the Japanese aircraft used a "boost pressure" similar to the Brits, and maybe in Atmospheres...could be in Bars, , been a while since I have worked with one of those as we get far to few of their interesting aircraft across the gunwale.

Anybody know the flight history of this aircraft? My "Francine" book on Japanese aircraft is burried at home somewhere and I have not found it.

Did the plane fly? Did it complete flight test? Were and production models built and flown?

I just don't remember! T
