• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

not trying to be critical, only offering info, "Truman's Mule" has a slight difference between the front turret compared to the other two turrets

Hi norab, I think Truman's Mule is post WWII, I'm building the WWII era model of BB63 and going by images from that time period. I'll double check just in case I'm wrong though. Is "Truman's Mule" fs9?

Note on the turrets, the sides are not straight but have a jog with maybe a 10 deg angle. The forward rangefinders for turret one were removed post war on all four ships. So the various features vary as to the date and also vary from ship to ship.

Here's a top view of the turret. I'm building the ship the way it looked in 45.

There is a good reference for the turrets and mounts at HNSA.org, a turret and mount "catalog" with drawings of most all of those used during WWII. Many but not all have dimensions as well.

Hows this for a fire control system?
