TrackIR with Golden Wings

middle

Charter Member
Hi guys...I just now installed for the umpteenth time Golden Wings and much to my consternation, when I fired it up, my Track IR wouldn't work....It works on everything else including the brand new vanilla FS9 install that I used to install GW3.
Any ideas? Do I have to trick it somehow? Will it only work if the sim that you're flying in is included in the Track IR internal list?
Needless to say, I'm baffled!!!!! middle

Theres a dll module you have to move fron FS9 and copy it into GW3. Can't remember which one.......standby. I think its the language dll........?

Yep, it worked...I took the stock Language.dll out of the FS9 install and switched 'em out...now I can see in the way to which I've become accustomed....Thanks again,MM.....................mid

Mid,

be aware that this impacts the folder that GW uses to store your flights, it will now store them in with the FS9 flights in your 'my docs' folder. If you have any you need, your gonna have to move them across manually.

Alternatively, you can move them into a folder within the 'flights' folder of GW3, the name is up to you, you will need to make a description text file, easy just look at a stocker and edit one.

Give me a few minutes, and I should be able to mix up a copy of the langauge.dll that still looks like the stock FS2004 one to TrackIR, but uses the GW3 folder for it's flights.

On second thought, it may be more than a few minutes, as it's been a few years since I brewed up the original modified version for GW3.

Ok, found, tweaked, zipped, uploaded.

Rename Gw3.tir.txt (attached) to Gw3.tir.zip

Unzip the file, and rename your current language.dll to something like language.dll.old, and replace it with the attached file (renamed from language.dll.GW3.TrackIR to language.dll)

It should appear stock to TrackIR (uses the stock window titles, etc), but it will use the "Golden Wing Files" folder to store your flights, instead of the stock "Flight Simulator Files" Folder

Enjoy,
Jeff

cheers WWD,

great job, will try it tonight, bed time now though. Would it be possible to do the same for the Silver wings one?

Jamie

many thanks kind sir!! now I've gotta go and undo all those flights I moved, lol. Just kidding, they're fine where they are and it will be a lot less work in future.
