Is there a way to convert CFS2 mdls to gmax source?

There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

Some older CFS2 models are converted CFS1 models (ie. FSDS1 standard) newer ones are GMAX or FSDS2.x. I would imagine the latter would work okay, but the former maybe not.
It is possible to change the model header in Hex code from a native CFS2 model to an FS8 model. Can't remember off the top of my head how, but it may fool MDX into submission?
I'll see if I still have the info.

Didn't someone get Ed Wilsons source work from his widow I seem to remember?

I have all of what was downloaded from Ed's machine. There are mdls for the A20 but no source files. There are source files for the A26, p40, and???? maybe another plane.

Ed Wilson, so yes, the FDG A20.
I have tried 3 different methods and no go converting the FDG A20 to a source file. I have come across very few mdls that cannot be broken into, but so far this is one of them! grrr!
I have managed to get a .dxf file but the model is all mixed up, and basically unusable.

Thought i might have it, but alas no. I also see Tango Romeo lists it as 'FDG_A-20_ACM.zip' in his source list.
I do have the following sources by FDG though:
P-61, Ki45, P-47D, P-51D
but alas no A-20.
Couldn't the now Freeware Alphasim Boston be utilised, they state 'These files are freeware. Please amend/distribute as you see fit.'

Interesting! Would that P-47D sourcefile be something you or FDG are/is willing to share? (I am sure others would be equally interested in the rest of that list - although the P-61 for CFS3 must be nearing completion)

1) I have uploaded the P-47 3-view drawings (many of them) of various models and sent to the link to Frosty. If you are interested, Frosty may share that link with you.
2) I have four A-20 models in gmax that I am willing to share even though I have not yet released these products for FS9/FSX. They are animated and texture mapped for FS9 so they would need to be converted. The models use some custom xml for weight, fuel, crew, and munitions configurations and other things so that would probably need changing as well. I will provide the custom xml if requested. The models are A-20C, A-20G, P-70A1 and P-70A2.
3) As you know, I also have gmax source for the Lockheed Ventura, Lodestar, and Harpoons that I am willing to share.
If any of these are of interest, or any other of my projects, I will gladly share the source with you; just PM me. I understand the conversions to CFS3 require time but they may at least provide a good starting point for gmax designers.
