Wow really behind on these updates.

Update 04/23/2026

JoinFS Info
The download can be found here:
Make sure you get the correct version for your simulator of choice.

Once you have JoinFS installed you will need to add the following information to connect to the SOH JoinFS Server:

JoinFS server address = ts3.sim-outhouse.net:6112

On opening JoinFS go to 'File/Address Book' in the drop down menus then 'right-click' anywhere in the dark grey area in the new window and select 'Add'.
In the 'Name' box put 'SOH Server' (without the quotes) and in the 'Address' box put the address shown above then click 'OK'.
On the main window make sure the drop down server window shows 'SOH Server' then click 'Join' and the 'Network' icon will change from red to green to show you are connected. Once you have your sim up and running the 'Simulator' icon will change from red to green. If either of those icons do not show green you have a problem, try manually clicking on the icons to see if they will change from red to green. You need both icons to be green to have a stable connection to both your sim and the SOH multiplayer server.

TeamSpeak 3 Info
The download can be found here:
Make sure you get the correct version for your OS

Once you have TS3 installed you will need to add the following information to connect to the SOH TS3 Server:

TS3 server address = ts3.sim-outhouse.net

In the 'Connect' window put the above address info into the 'Server Nickname or Address' box. Add your SOH 'Handle' and first name in the 'Nickname' box.
To get full member access and be able to use voice activation you will need to be online when a 'Server Admin' is also online so that they can upgrade your status to 'SOH Member' (this only needs to be done once).

To add a 'Bookmark' for the SOH TS3 Server make sure you have the initial connection established and then proceed as follows:
From the menu bar select 'Bookmarks/Add to Bookmarks' and the SOH server will be added automatically. Now select 'Bookmarks/Manage Bookmarks' and in the new window make sure you have the 'SOH Server' highlighted and then make sure the bottom check boxes on the right side are checked as active (i.e. 'Connect on Startup' and 'Enable my TeamSpeak features'). Now you will automatically connect to the SOH TS3 Server whenever you start the application.

Flight 19: Homeless, broke, wandering the vast, dusty plains looking for a place to rest our bones, chat with friends and scrounge a meal...

The plug is pulled, the light shines no more. <<SIGH>>

We knew it was coming but it doesn't make the taste any sweeter.

Really I don't know what to say.

The logical side of me responds: "Screw it, it's not worth the effort." Virtually no one on SOH flies online, so why bother paying for equipment and bandwidth if no one cares or wants it. The handful of us that do partake can do direct connections on JoinFS (Yes, there's a small learning curve but the rewards are many) or we can make a place on one of the open servers.

The old grumpy guy says:"It's a shame that tornado took out the old garden shed. We all knew where the key was hidden and how to turn on the kerosene lantern in the dark". It was a good hangout and I miss it already. I don't mind using JoinFS but I know some are attached to FSHost's chat box so we'd have to get past that hurdle if there was a 'tomorrow'.

As much as anything (and the CFS guys are impacted more) is the loss of the TeamSpeak server and all the data stashed on there. Can this be shoehorned into the existing .com server or would there be a bandwidth issue?

Maybe the fact that this is the first comment/reply in two days is indicative...

:wiggle:

Teamspeak will by on this server. That should be done tomorrow night. We have plenty of bandwidth but I don't know how well it will work yet.

Teamspeak3 is back online on this server.

use any of these addresses
sim-outhouse.com
sim-outhouse.net
72.233.76.234

I don't have it set to run as a service yet so I have to start it manually. I am still trying to resolve an issue with starting the executable with the ini file.

There are no files on it yet. They are still transferring to the server. That will take awhile.

For JoinFS we should be showing up in the list now.

I poked it today and it finally started working. Not 100% sure what changed but its working.

Seems to be puttering along fine.
I joined last night (Friday) about 1900 MDT. there were 5 others on the server.

According to the map three were cruising Idaho, a couple on the US east coast and one supposedly being ATC in Churchill, MB
