Mal,
As I said earlier I am not worried about the other issues as I have fixed these for other FS9 portovers in the past. If necessary I would rebuild or create a new .air file, amend the config file and add different A/B effects or whatever else is necessary. However, that HUD problem is the one that I cannot solve and it detracts so much from the VC view that personally I am not able to tolerate it. I will fiddle with the Hex editor a bit more and if I get lucky and get success then I will progress the other issues. At this moment in time I am not confident that I will solve the HUD issue as I have also been trying to solve a similar problem with the gunsight reticle which appears as a black area in the VC of the Alphasim BAe Lightning T5 when ported to FSX.
I don't know if you use it but Jerry Beckwith's "Air Wrench" is a superb little programme for editing .air files where most of the aircraft's parameters that determine flight characteristics are located. It takes a little bit of time to learn how to use effectively but once you get used to it it is very useful. One of the best utilities that I have ever bought. I saw reference to it in Piglet's models and thought it must be worth a look if he uses it. Again if anyone feels that they can help solve or solve the HUD problem then please post or contact me. :ernae:
Best regards,
John N.
