A coastie Lancastrian. Now that's unusual.
If there's a Coastie paint for it, Tim will be there "with bells on!"
I guess my favorite commercial tube would have to be the SMS freeware MD-11. If you can even count any vintage airliner as a "tube," I suppose any version of the Connie would be near the top of my list! But also lurking near the top are the Sahara and the Brabazon. I can't help it, I like big aircraft! I wonder if a C-5A could be converted to pax use...

Actually I do like the DeHavilland Comet. David Maltby made an excellant one that I can't recommend enough.
Tom, I've got the civil version of the Sahara in Air France paint flying around as AI. Also have a Brabazon flying circuits from London to Washington DC daily.
Mine is pretty loose and roughly translates to aircraft that were designed to be airliners. A DC-3 is well within that definition as would be the Lockheed L-10 Electra and the Lancastrian.

Thanks for reminding me about the Comet...such a sleek aircraft. When I look at that plane, I think of Super Heroes....it looks like the kind of plane that Super Heroes would use to get around when they were too tired to fly on their own. Not sure what British Super Heroes would be like though....

PS: No insult toward the British people intended. The only names for Super Heroes I could think of that had a British flair were Knicker Man and Bloody Bloke...comes from watching too much Hackney British comedy during my youth.

You have almost gotta love all of David Maltaby's aircraft. They're basically the only heavies that I regularly fly with enthusiasm (that came out a bit wrong - displays my spelling ability).

Victor carries tubes rather than is one. Reminds me of 1950s spaceship drawings, that pointy nose and the inset windows.
