• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

'Ugly Trend: Too Many Arguments & Too Little Fun'

You guys do have it pretty good here, I am a trekkie but I don't hang around trekkie forums really. I spent about two months trying out star trek online. I would go on to their forums to check on game updates, hints and so on. Those folks argue about anything and everything...they would probably argue about the color of the cupholders in the captain's ready room if they could. As a consequence their forums are so heavily moderated. It's like they have PG lawyers looking over their shoulders or somthing. Ironic that Star Trek itself was famous for finding creative ways to 'express' itself around the censors. I got a warning from their moderators for making a joke about the planet Uranus. Somthing about my ship being from the shipyards orbiting U.... A somewhat hostile place. So yes it is very peaceful here by comparison. :)

Unfortunatley, the alcohol giants in Warrington are all gone now (father worked at Tetley Walker for 36 years, grandfather a cooper there originally too). Vladivar was brewed by Greenalls, which is no longer

I remember getting some great Vladivar calenders through his contacts in my younger days :)

Love this site. Yes sometimes there is some rather vigorous discussion but but the mods keep a very close eye on things and lock down anything that does get out of hand.

Try belonging to a site where if you post a screenshot taken in an area other than their own scenery then the post is deleted. The same thing happens if you critise a screenshot. And if you start a thread that is critical of something there it is moved or deleted. Believe me I have had posts mysteriously disappear because the mod did not like a couple of words used. Words of critism not swear words.

Also you CANNOT let people know if a new aircraft has been released or even discuss them there. Just sugary, syrupy comments allowed.
 
In other words, promote what we promote or be gone. I can think of two places like that. Of which I do not attend. :salute:

Regarding the post directly above mine, we're not out anything. There's nothing in the archives. So we're not missing anything useful.
 
I want everyone here to pair up with a partner, and choose a 3rd person. I'll be one of the first 3rd persons in this new sub-group, and the first two partners will have ridiculous arguments about nothing important to FSX or life itself, and I, and every other lucky 3rd person of their three man team, will simply smack the first two over the head with a heavy rolled up Sunday paper, while they at times stop arguing to look at me and yell 'Ow! What'd you do that for??' I'll tell them, 'You signed up for this when you read my post and agreed to its crazy principle.' Then another smack to the one's head who last questioned it instead of arguing with their chosen argument partner.

This is going to be f'n hilarious. :ernae: LOL I hadn't seen Python in a while, but that was just classic. Never had seen that skit of theirs, either.
