Howdy!

While I have Jordan Moore's 'civilian' Huey (the Blue & Yellow one) for FS9, I was wondering if there's a Vietnam era UH-1 'Gunship' with the appropriate M-60s, Rockets and Crew that's floating around out there for FS9?

Thanks! 👍 :)

not necessarily for FS2004, but certainly for CFS2 https://www.sim-outhouse.org/freeflight/Aircraft_CFS2_7.html (scroll down to near the end to preview the heli selection) --> perhaps can be made compatible with FS9 with a modicum of adjustments and fine-tuning

alternatively, also https://www.fs2000.org/2004/01/22/fs2002fs2004-army-uh-1dh-huey/ by Lynn Rogers

and for completeness, the UH-1 by Jordan Moore in Vietnam era livery https://library.avsim.net/extsearch?extended_search[name]=Huey&extended_search[filename]=&extended_search[author]=Mercy&extended_search[category]=35

and two additional https://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=Piskin&categoryId=33 https://www.avsimsu.com/f/fs2004-vertoleti-35/uh-1d-16030.html

Alphasim has a Huey gunship on the web site, but it's old:

You might need to swap-in the .air file and aircraft.cfg data from Jordan's Huey.

Update- Just for the heck of it I tried to load it in FS9.

Defiantly problems with the animated rotors and also the 2D panel. I'm thinking the panel is fixable. Maybe some kind soul can try scrubbing it up with MDL Converter, but I'm thinking there was some hex editing going on. :indecisiveness:

Which is a shame, the FD isn't that bad and while it really could use a better sound folder, what you get will work.

Seen here in a happier environment (FS8), the Alpha Huey still has some issues with the rotor animation.

But at least the rotors are now visable.
Notice, also, the twin .50's, zuni rockets, and the grenade chucker in the nose.
I have a virtual scrap load of planes installed in FS8 and for some reason I dumped this one many years ago.
Again, it is very, VERY old. And while the 3DO and textures are nice, the coding screams out "FS2000".

Worst case, load it in FS9. Its now an "Army test object" at Area 51 and those rotor masts are really antennas for an anti-gravity generator of "foreign origin". Like 200 light year's foreign..
Goose the throttle/collective and try to pull off a loop. Interesting things happen when the nose is raised higher than 80 degrees. If it helps, I managed to regain some control at FL 380 (38,000 ft) and "auto hover" it back to the ground. :wiggle:
