well i did say i'd Revamp the IRIS Harrier.... reworking the textures at the moment, Externals 60% done (just weathering and other decals remain) and VC Textures 95% done.... heres a sneaky peek, and yes i'll make it available once i'm done :salute:

first texture going on.... sort of the initial paint for the GR.7, this one, a Harrier GR.7 from RAF Gutersloh belonging to 3(F) Squadron

Matt,

looking great!! Always preferred them in their green scheme than the boring gray that replaced it. Just MHO.

Looking forward to all you do.

Jamie

Ironic isn't it.... after all 'Tertius Primus Erit' (3 Squadrons Motto; The Third shall be the First), just waiting for the thumbs up from a guy i know who was with 3 at the time....

Looking pretty darn good there, Matt. I like the textures on the Harrier from 3(F). I agree with Jamie... the dark green looks better on the jump jet IMHO.

Looking good, Matt!...

...ah I'm talking about the plane. LoL!!!

yeah, she does look good.....

...unlike myself who has been banned from several stores for mirrors shattering upon entering my eyeline.... :icon_lol:

Working the Next one now..........

ok.... i know i said a few RAF ones first but i got a bit sidetracked and over-excited about a 'WhIF?' paint.... still WIP but well... if ya know me it won't take long to figure which Nations markings will go on this one....

thanks, yeah just finishing up the blue patches now before moving onto the grey/green patches, then finally the markings.... and another Treat, once Andy is done with the weapons textures for his batch of TSR.2's the entire pack will be released.... just to give you a taste of whats in the TSR.2's; Andy has focused on squadrons that most likely would have gotten TSR.2... as for me, here's my list... MFG1 (German), Saudi Air Force, USAFE Lakenheath, RNLAF, JASDF, HAF SEA (South East Asia camouflage), HAF SEA Tigermeet fin, HAF Low Level Recon, HAF Ghost, HAF Aegean Blue, HAF Bare/Laquer, and USAF 44TFS while at Korat....

kinda busy behind the scenes eh? :icon_lol:

....still, back to Harrier :jump:

slowly getting there with the First of the 'WhIF?' Greek Harriers..... still gotta soften it and not make it quite so hard edged, but only really the fin to sort now....

ok.... time to get the markings on! :jump:

Hellenic Harrier nearly there, then i really must get back to RAF Schemes.... :icon_lol:

Harrier GR1 - Tailor made for Greece

slowly getting there with the First of the 'WhIF?' Greek Harriers..... still gotta soften it and not make it quite so hard edged, but only really the fin to sort now....

If any aircraft was ever tailor made for a particular operational arena surely the Harrier was a glove fit for Greece.
Excellent multi-role aircraft that can (could have, I suppose in British terms) operate independent of normal base facilities right at the forefront of operations.

And pack a hell-of-a punch!

By geographical nature Greece provides(ed) the perfect environment - its many isolated rocky islands - rugged mainland mountainous landscape where units operating Harriers would be at economic, ergonomic and tactical advantage.

Matt, you picked a very interesting 'what if' which should have been a definite 'it is' (was)!...but then we go into the nasty 'P' subbect.

Nice one Buddy! :applause:

yeah the Harrier really was a glove made to fit for dispersed tactical operation, heck you could back it in amongst the olive groves and pines, then when needed launch off roads, or VTOL it out of any open areas, not to mention land it on the back of Hellenic Navy Ships if needed.....

... still, she's just about to go taste some Greek valleys!... test time! better put on the International Orange flight suit.....
