Uh Oh! I'm at it again....

There are moves in Whitehall to bring the old Harriers back into service, heard it mentioned in Parliment. on Prime ministers Question time, earlier this week.

Steve

I thought they were being shipped across the pond as spares. I hope they pull their fingers out and get this sorted before it's to late!!

Jamie

Jamie, JHF (Joint Harrier Force) still run up their engines on a daily basis if i recall, keep the airframes alive, allows them to be stored indefinately, and should they be needed to get wheeled out and go...

ok found a cheap a$$ed mouse, it's not ideal, has lousy tracking but i just gotta keep plugging away......

German Marineflieger is underway.... oddly looks good in this light-dark camouflage and dayglo parts..... :icon_lol:

decided to fly the Harrier earlier with FSRecorder going, was surprised to see i could still fly formation... here's 3 of the completed 7 in a formation doing a flypast of LGAV and then doubling back to the Parthenon...

well i did say i'd Revamp the IRIS Harrier.... reworking the textures at the moment, Externals 60% done (just weathering and other decals remain) and VC Textures 95% done.... heres a sneaky peek, and yes i'll make it available once i'm done :salute:
Matt, it appears that you are having too much fun. Let the rest of us know when you are ready to share the new textures. I'll be waiting... :ipepsi2:

Great work, and great pics BTW.

That's great work. Now if someone could only resize the actual model to the right size, it would be darn near perfect.

Mike, i might be able to, what scale does it need to be? 90% of what it is currently? roughly what %, as i say i might be able to sort it....

I think you answered your own question in the post above but if you are serious, I can probably get you some good numbers.

I still love the model and the hovering abilities it has, one of my all time fave's to load up, even if there was not an official AV-8B version, still love the thing.

One way to compare it is to load up one of the other Harrier models, (Alphasim's or even Nick Black's AI versions) and slew it over top of one of those models to the point where you can accurately compare and note the size differences. That's how I noticed it was too big a couple years back.

I've also made a model of an in game measuring stick that I use to make sure my models are the correct dimensions, it works really well. It's an aircraft "model" that you can load up and slew around to measure other models. I can always share that if it helps.

i had a play but couldn't seem to sort it... i don't mind it being a bit big, i just find it a joy to fly, and the old adage "if it looks right...."

still got a few more to go, just having a day or two away from it....

thanks BB, if any of you are wondering what i'm up to at the moment apart from the scenery, here's the next bird in my hangar (though not in full scale painting, more as if and when i get a few minutes...)

I'm going so OT, you'll be legging it Cross Country!

Okay, so we were wondering ..."what you are up to"...
Second thoughts, better you didn't tell us....

Apart from stickin' newsprint or 'bodycopy' all over that A-7...HAFin' fun aren't ya?

Ran fresh out of Letraset didn't ya?...Nugget!

Just before you disappear conveniently into the early morning Aegean sea mist on both burners as you are so aptly renowned:

How the Dickens do I find the magic spell for getting shadows on my custom ground texes?????

You've already mentioned MCX and I'm impressed by your knowledge!

So where's that bally 'Scenery Wizzard' reputedly sitting around in MCX, waiting to cast a spell (AND A BLINKING SHADOW!!!) on m'texes?

Better not be a smoke screen or I'll 'ave you marchi' up and down the parade ground square...

than going along with my little plan...of

"marchin' up and down the parade ground square...":icon_eek:

"Now what about the rest of you? Rather be at the pictures I suppose." :icon_lol:

it's there, takes some fiddling but it worked for me....

'TIGER' brand coffee...or back from Bengal?...

Am I suffering from some incurable form of dislexia, myopia or should I quietly withdraw to the HOF (Bengal dept).

Just got Arno's ModelConverterX downloaded, up and legging...

Darn good program (As are all his programs) Silly old me - I was trying to find the 'Scenery Magician' on an older (2009) version.

So now, I've got ModelConverterX 1.2! :jump: like a pair o'new roller skates.

Phew! "Look at all those guns an' things!"

Main toolbar; Import, Export, Batch convert, Special tools... Aha! Special tools...that must be it!; SCASM Macro to XML placement converter, (the heart starts pounding faster at the thought of meeting Merlin the scenery Wiz')...XML placement to SHP converter,..

DANG!:
XML Apron to SurfaceType converter
brings up a new dialog that allows you to convert the aprons of a BGLComp XML airport file into a SCASM file containing SurfaceType commands for these aprons. This can be useful if you want to delete your aprons from the XML to see an aerial image below, but still want aprons that are smooth. Without such code the aircraft will bump around and show dust behind the wheels.

All I want is a shadow or two - NO DUST! Just me, and my shadow!

:sheep:

Sing-a-long-a-Max?...yeah, I thought it was too, but it aint.
I searched the song but couldn't find any clues - see fer yerself!

...just light entertainment (not at all disagreeable, but not Frank..ly what I was after).
