Update Douglas_C-47_Beta_V3.14 feedback and support topic

Hi Aussie,
The key/view assignments are not unique to any particular aircraft. In the control settings "View" section you'll see references to the Views you want and can be assigned as desired.

Hello,
I believe the answer is to comment out the HotKeySelect= entries
in the engine camera views in the aircraft.cfg file.

Fuel Gauge?

Does anyone know what file I need to access in order to change the color of the needle in the fuel gauge. It needs to be a bright yellow or bright red.
Unless I zoom in drastically, I can't see what the fuel level is. Thanks for any input. :)

The texture for the fuel-quantity-gauge needle is on 'vvc_9.dds' inside the default 'texture' folder. It's the white with orange tip line right of the fuel gauge image. You might want to change it on vvc_9_'spec' and '_LM' as well.

cheers,
jan

Thanks Jan, much appreciated! :)

For a long time I have wanted to do some repaints of one of my favourite regional airline. So far I have the fuselage painted but am a bit lost as to where to find the door hinges. I cannot seem to find them on the template but when I load the aircraft into P4D V4 they show up as unpainted textures.

Any ideas where I can find them?

Loading doors hinges are here (see pic).

FWIW The original C-47 paintkit should have a mapping layout.

Weight and Fuel Status Panel - Wont accept Changes

Hi Guys

I am new to this site (first post - woohoo!) and fairly new to FSX though been simming and small time modding for decades.

I am hesitant to post as I can hardly believe my question has not been asked before but I can not find an answer here or on the internet so here I go.

Before I go any further I want to say this plane is Brilliant! And I have had a blast getting used to the very realistic (I will have to assume as I have never been in a real C-47) way in which she flies and responds to the environment. I have no issue with the Plane at all.

My issue is with the Panel as mentioned in the title.

For some reason at the parking gate (or parked anywhere) with the parking brake applied (by mouse click, key stroke or controller assignment) I can not change the fuel or weight quantities. I can switch between weight of fuel, gallons, percentage of miles possible to fly - and I can change the trim +/- percentage - but left right clicking on the weight numbers has no effect. Also on the Total Fuel line, it changes to select fuel in blue when clicked and scrolls through the possible settings; Normal, Max, Pattern, Empty. But when I right-click to select it reverts to the values I entered before I started the flight or default if I did not enter anything before the flight.

It is exactly the same with the payload.

I have not noticed any issue with any other panel although I have not fully tested the Autopilot section of the Monitor panel as I do not really use Autopilot.

I have made no attempt to change anything in the download beyond adding a new livery - the Buffalo airlines skin - so I don't think I have damaged anything. I have the latest fixes added and this is confirmed in the test on the Monitor panel. I did not fully test the plane and panels before patching up the the most current fixes so I do not know if this was an issue in 3.12 or the first 3.14.

So, once again, this is an Amazing addition to FSX and thanks for all the efforts.

PS: I love the audible checklist!

Hello,
I cannot replicate this in FSX, with or without the engines running, I can amend both the fuel and payload
and see the effect oh the aircraft.
It doesn't work in P3D v4 as yet but that is not what you are using is it?

Thanks for the quick reply.

No I am using FSX Steam Edition with REX, GEX, UTX, ORBX EU England and Active Sky - a few addon scenery aerodromes and 3 addon planes, so not much meddling so far.

I will try again before engine start as I have not tried that yet.

Failing that - delete, re-download and re-install?

Perhaps, but you shouldn't need to.
I think that the reason your search for a solution to the problem was fruitless
is because so few, if any users have experienced it.

It occurs to me it might be my wireless mouse. Is there a keyboard key combination to achieve this? (I was adding this whilst you were responding)

Hello again,

I don't think that there are alternative keyboard commands.
For me, hovering over the value to be changed and then either a left (lower) or right (raise) click
changes the figure.

I note that the payload updates the total weight as the number changes.
The fuel has to be set and then a click on any of the payload values will add or subtract
the fuel weight to or from the total.

An interim solution, at least for a dynamic fuel management, is to use the Monitor panel. That is, in the Monitor>Flight>Fuel/Weight line left-click to reduce or right-click to increase fuel. Note the tool tip for details and watch the fuel levels in Monitor>Engines. You can do that in all situations, including flight. IIRC, however, the engines have to be running for the weight number to properly reflect the changed weight.

Thanks for the responses folks.

Hopefully I will get a chance to do some more testing (and flying!) this evening.

I have tested some more and still get the same issue. I can change the fuel with the Monitor panel.

I tried a re-install but still get the same issue.

Thought it might be a conflict so turned everything else off but still nope. I did not try uninstalling my other airplanes as it is not that big an issue.

I can still set the cargo weight before flight and alter the fuel with the monitor so no biggy, just odd.

Is that a typo and you actually meant you can't change the quantity of fuel? I'll take a look and see what mine does.

Sorry I wasn't clear.

I can't change the fuel or cargo with the Shift 2 panel but I CAN change the fuel in the Monitor panel. No alternate way to change cargo though.

Odd problem but hardly life changing. I just get a bit obsessive over the details sometimes.

I just tried it with the shift+2 panel and was able to change fuel in both tanks! I normally have my cargo and fuel adjusted for my aircraft before I ever hit "Fly Now".
