Updated C-1323k by V. Zhigulskiy at A VSIMRUS.com

Weird. Two days ago I was wishing Vladimir would do a update of his C-123 like he did with his recent An-2.I took the 123 up a while ago and wow what a improvement!
I'm in heaven! :applause:

Great find . Thanks for sharing . He did a great job on the update . All of the 123 fans better grab this up .

The only thing I have found on the updated C-123 that I don't like is how the wheel chocks and crates and such are linked to the lights. The VC is super nice...though the colors seem to be a bit anemic....can be fixed with some Photoshop time. The external modeling looks great! A huge step forward from his old Provider.

Thanks for the HU, very nice improvements on this bird,. but do you guys have a castoring nosewheel? must be something I missed on the manual,. it's nice that not linking the rudders with it,. but instead using differential braking. :jump:

Hmm, the image shown on the download page doesn't look like much like the C-123, unless it's just the way it was shot. The whole fwd fuselage looks odd. It says for FS9 only, but so was the original and it works great in FSX. . . .so I'm downloading to see if I want to keep this or stay with the original.

This is a very good update. :applause:

I like the new panel and VC , nice and clear.

One very minor thing though , apart from the nose gear (previously mentioned) , I can't find an altimeter in the panel. There's a Radar altimeter but not a regular one.

All in all though a great addition to the fleet. :jump: :jump:

Thanks.

Pete.

Got it installed. A few paints I don't care for, I'm more of a Vietnam Era Camo type and there are those as well, so I'm good. Interior is excellent. . .as already mentioned a huge leap forward in every sense, especially the VC. I still think the fwd fuselage looks a bit off, but overall. . .no complaints. In FSX, everything, as near as I can tell, that should be animated or clickable. . .is. . .:applause:

The "mask.bmp" needed to get an alpha correction to solid black (This cleared the front and side windows) and I cleared the rotating disc that should be the prop with another solid black alpha (I'll be adding one of Banana Bob's Props tomorrow). I don't know what the actual specs should be for the Provider, but I do know it doesn't perform like the original did (which probably means the old one was way off, lol). I really like the pep of the original, this one just kinda lumbers lazily to altitude.

Thanks for the FSX feedback, Falcon.
Did you notice any FPS hit with that model ? The update done to the An2 some weeks ago made it unflyable in FSX due to terrible FPS hit ! The previous versions were so smooth on the performance, so this new version was quite a bad surprise :/ And now I'm very scared about this new 123 for the same reason....:kilroy:

As near as I remember Daube there wasn't any significant fps hit at all. With the dual core system I have, it would have been noticeable I think and it seemed pretty smooth to me, even the VC seemed to be ok.:salute:

Ok, Banana Bob's C-119 prop works great and the glass is cleared with a new alpha, but while checking things out in the VC I noticed something disheartening. Nothing of the exterior is visible from the VC, not the wings, not the engines, it appears that wasn't modeled. That's too bad. . . .not a total downer, but sometimes I like to look out the left window and check to see if the flaps are still down, or that an engine cowling is closed. A little surprising that it wasn't done, he did such as excellent job otherwise.

Something else I noticed in the aircraft.cfg, and someone with some know-how in this area will have to confirm this, but it appears he has given additional engine info to be able to switch from a piston engine to a turboprop. He has a lot of engine info commented out and I didn't look over everything, but it appears that's what he's done, which could be interesting.

As i didn't find altimeter too, i have changed ADF gauges with altimeter from calclassic's dc-6 in vc, and left original adf indicators in 2d panel.

Falcon I'd be interested in those adjustments if possible please?

Falcon: I too would be interested in your adjustments . I noticed here at SOH under Bob's downloads there were the C119 and the B26 Marauder props . Which one of these(or another ) were you going to use ?

Rich
Amended:
(Didn't see the C119 prop in above thread)

As i didn't find altimeter too, i have changed ADF gauges with altimeter from calclassic's dc-6 in vc, and left original adf indicators in 2d panel.

I checked in the gauge folders included with this model, and there is an actual altimeter gauge (gauge name: C123zh!Altimeter )...but Vlad must've accidentally forgot to put a callout for the gauge in the panel.cfg. So it's possible to simply 'drop in' the altimeter in the place of the ADF gauge using the gauge he included.

I am working on a better prop-blur for the FS9 version, will hopefully have it available later tonight ... Mike :salute:

On the FSX side, several things have to been picked up:
The row of Manifold Pressure gauges don't show the gauge face (I have that corrected)
When the airplane is loaded the engines are "dieseling" and nothing seems to correct it (have not found a correction for this yet).:salute:
