USS Nimitz released

Mr. Nesu,

You are loading the Flight on the carrier or with AICarriers and, somehow, an AI vessel is located there at the same time. PM Mr. David "DSWO" as he might me able to route the second carrier or do some other kind of fix.

Good Luck! :wavey:

Hi Folks

The Editor is part of a .NET Compiler and is packaged within the entire application(s) structor. So, you'll have to get a Visual .NET product to get it; its NOT Freeware.

The ASCII Characters are NOT visible on these forums,
even when encased within the CODE segments; don't ask me why! :isadizzy:
James -
It's nothing to do with visibility in these forums.

Wingmate posted a zipped snippet from his exe.xml file.

There are no extra characters in the file whatsoever !

Go back and look at it again.

Paul

Mr. Neus,

Possibly! Either way, talk to Mr. David "DSWO" as he is the one that created those tracks Vol1 & Vol2.

Good Luck! :wavey:

:applause: for the Nimitz and the fleets! Something I've long been waiting for but just recently found it here.

Now to the troubles. :) I know it's a noob questina, but I don't seem to have the key assignments for SHIFT-I and SHIFT-Space. So, when I get to the hook on the catapult I lower the thingy on the airplanes front wheel, but pressing SHIFT-I or SHIFT-Space nothing happens.

I've been through the key assignments and found out those keystrokes are not assigned to any FS commands. What are the exact commands those two keys combos should be assigned to?

TIA!

Worked like a charm! All carrier procedures are working fine after I copied the Standard.xml as noted in FSDeveloper's Wiki. :)

Thanks again!

SkippyBing or anyone else. Help!

I'm rying to create a flight with the aircraft already on the flight deck. The instructions below aren't working for me. I slew onto the carrier, exit slew mode, save the flight. Then I change SimOnGround=True to False.

Whan I load the flight, my plane is far behind the carrier (which is moving up channel) and immediately splashes. I'm using SkippyBing's .bgl out of San Diego (see post #96).

If you've got it following an AI route, slew on to it. Exit slew mode and save the flight.
Open the saved flight file in notepad, it'll be in your My Documents/Flight Simulator X Files folder and has a .FLT extension.
Locate the line

SimOnGround=True

and change true to False, otherwise you start off on the sea surface which is a pain as you die instantly. Now when you load the flight in game you'll be on the deck.

Here's an extract from my .FLT file:

Hmmm,

The only thing I can think of is that there's a difference between where the ship was when you saved the file, and when you load it. I'm not sure why this would happen, basically the AI ship's positions are determined by the time so they should always be in the same place at the same time (give or take a possible small error due to inconsistency with the AI's driving).

If you tried saving it on deck inside San Diego harbour it might be worth trying again but with the ship clear of the channel and heading up the coast. I'm not convinced the initial manoeuvring of the ship is consistent so there's more likely to be position differences at the start of a route.

Let me know how you get on, I may try some trial myself if I get some time....

I made a number of saved flights for my Carrier Tracks download and slewing always produced results like you describe. Best way to set up a saved flight is to land on the deck and park so that your aircraft is pointing in the same direction as the ship is travelling. Then save the flight and go back to edit the file as described earlier.

can someone post a new link to the carrier, the link in the original post is no longer working

FSX Carrier Tracks Volumes 1 And 2. Volume 1 places Nimitz-class carrier models as moving AI boat traffic in Hawaii and four coastal locations, situated by Marine Corps and Naval air stations. Note: Volume 1 has been updated since the first release. If you have the original version, delete it; this one has everything you need. Volume 2 adds Nimitz-class carriers in more locations: near Naval air stations in the United States, around the Hawaiian islands of Kauai and Maui, and Tokyo Bay. It also includes two tracks for the French carrier "Clemenceau": one in the Mediterranean, the other in the Caribbean. For each track, a map is provided as well as a sample flight that starts on the carrier. Requires: freeware "FSX Acceleration USS Nimitz and Eisenhower" by Javier Fernandez (USS_NIMITZ_IKE.ZIP). Instructions for downloading the French "Clemenceau" (VEH_CLE.ZIP) are provided in the readme. By David Wilson-Okamura.[/SIZE]
