Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Viking warship

This time a rather strange question: does anyone remember to have seen such a Viking warship?

It was either a static object or movable model and possibly could be a FS2002 creation. In any case nothing similar in the web. Thanks for your eventual tips.

Surclaro originally had it, as Fs 2002 Artistic Interpretation Of A Viking Vessel, by Frank J. Petriccione.
Model Can Be Operated With A Sail Or With Oars.

How ever...... as noted... The record is historic. The file has not yet been located or enabled for download.

Thanks Robin. I got that far too, with the same result. I had a registered account for that site for years. It contained certain things that were no longer available elsewhere, or had never been available anywhere else. Even the Wayback Machine can't help with this.

believe they found what is today Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada https://www.newfoundlandlabrador.com/trip-ideas/travel-stories/vikings-history a long while before Columbus ever set foot in the Americas
@leuen I stand corrected, to an extent (at least from a geology standpoint), for a more technically accurate redo, all things considered, would be much farther north in Greenland, which while politically in the European sphere, is geologically in North America https://visitgreenland.com/articles/10-facts-about-greenland-that-you-might-not-know/ and Viking settlements in Greenland predate those in Newfoundland & Labrador by decades https://visitgreenland.com/articles/what-really-happened-to-greenlands-vikings/ --> as early as 984 A.D - more than half a millennia before Columbus or Vespucci landed in the Americas!

cheers!

Thanks for the real historical background, which isn't completely new for me. But you certainly have considered my post as a simple joke. Bora Bora and the Vikings ... Sometimes such things should be allowed.
