I posted a link that might be helpful on that A-4 group page at Facebook. Might be helpful in figuring out the BuNo of the earlier A-4E. I'm all sorted on the original AD-406/7 version so am working on that. Could be the same bird got the larger mid-fuselage text?

nice!!

Next up...LADY JESSIE...the first of a couple variations. couple small things to do yet.....

Yes sir and thank you! Are you using the occlusion layers on it?

I'm almost never one to ask those hated "when when when" questions but . . .

Does anyone have any idea when the update with the new fde's and other possible corrections will be available? I have shelved my A-4 for now until the update is out and I am itchin to fly it again.

Thought I saw a post from Mal or someone earlier that this was close at hand.

Interesting how experiences vary. I almost always hang back for a few weeks or so before buying any new release to observe any teething and allow time for any early fixes. In this case, I saw some amount of discussion over the FDE but could not in the end resist and bought the A-4 a few weeks ago. Though I have only made only few test flights, to my surprise I found the handling to be not just satisfactory but enjoyable and have yet to detect any vices. Batting 1000 on good traps (always have crash detection on). So far . .

By contrast I bought the MilViz B55 Baron - a work of art - but have not been able to trim it to save my life (even with max pitch down). Have posted on their boards but no one else appears to have had the same experience.

There are other instances where developers have widely beta tested new aircraft and then after release, customers report a variety of anomalies that the devs cannot themselves replicate themselves.

Leads one to think that individual hardware, software and respective settings may play a part in this.

Modification and testing is currently underway. Testors include several SOH members. This is a long process that will take some time as there are over 25 separate aircraft in the package and each has it's own FDE.

Be well worth the wait ... gives more time to then when released understand the work involved comparing the difference

Hey Montie, thanks so much for having a crack at an RNZAF scheme! The early 80s greens/tan is my fav and I was hoping someone would do one :D This site has a lot of detail about it that might help you:

http://redkiwi.weebly.com/delivery-and-new-schemes.html

If I might be picky for one second...the roundals I don't think were ever two colour but always 3/full colour on the pre-maritime scheme aircraft and the kiwi needs to face the front else he's arse into the wind! :D

I am using the Ohakea AFB, 2 Sqn, 1988 as reference if that helps. Just realized its NZ6209 not NZ6210 :icon_eek:
Good start Montie  If you need any further reference i have here, give me a nudge , I'm only a few minutes away from Wigram and the A4 Rhy's 'J7G' was pointing to , this is scheme the still had the red in the in the wing slats and airbrakes .

PS: Happy Birthday for tomorrow ;) Since you brought yourself NZSI and working on this you had better stop over at NZFF to say hi . :birthday2
