Hello Skyhawk,

Some great work on this model - superb paints!!

If you're at all inclined, I'd love to see a VA-46 Clansmen on a non-hump E.

Between that, and the repaints in your WIP list, I'd be super happy!

Thanks either way - your enthusiastic devotion for this aircraft type is exciting to see ... my love interest is the Crusader, and as I see it slowly coming to fruition, I can totally understand why you're so keen on the Skyhawk.

Take care,

DL

btw - those Oriskany shots are killing me. Weathered paint on the static A-4s???? You guys are on fire. Can't wait. Keep up the good work!

VA-46 is one I have and one other painter have tried but there's a problem. Because VIRTAVIA chose to map their textures the way they did....stretching and such....it makes it almost impossbile to do any paint "ACCURATELY" that consists of a fuselange band. My attempt to do this paint because I wanted to do John McCains's aircraft was very frustrating and I gave up. I love the paint scheme but I don't put out paints that aren't 100% on.

Now if VIRTAVIA could find it in their heart to remap the models so that there is no stretching of markings......I'd be all over it an money other schemes. I honestly don't see that happening as VIRTAVIA has a business model that I feel doesn't follow those routes and thats fine too.

Another real pain for me was the mapping they used on the standard aircraft. There is a panel that rotates with the horiz. stabs. That panel is mapped ti the horz. Stabs...ie no panel line on it. Now on the agressor version it has its own maping........huh?????? Very confusing and not repaint freindly. It took me about 3 hours to figure that one out.

Anyway...thank you for the compliments. Its always cool to see one of my paints being used and or posted in screen shots other than mine. :salute:

Just a Little Off Topic

Does anyone know how to add a key controlled (/) air show white smoke trail to the Blue Angels version of the Skyhawk?

Thanks!

@ Expat , You got to love these smaller carriers and the US Navy colours of the period

@ Delta-Lima , Its great to have Gary give me the chance to fix up the A4 texture , i can't wait till Gary has really started to put things together , i must ask if he's looking at a drivable version so then we can use it in MP , so many Skyhawk drivers here

@Noddy , pleased you got those fighter jocks sorted .. still washing coffee out of my navy whites :icon_lol:

@skyhawka4m , A4man - John looking forward to adding to the fleet :salute:
