Virtavia A-4 Skyhawk available

Thanks Mal and thanks again for your work on the project.

I'll try out your settings for the controls. Like I said, I personally thought the sim needed more rudder than I remember being necessary in tac jets in general, but it's very hardware and settings dependent and there is always a huge amount of variance when we are speaking of subjective experience. If you had actual A-4 guys flying it and they were happy enough (remembering that this is a sim) then I won't question their judgement in the matter.

In any event it's hardly a show stopper, and certainly shouldn't detract from anyone's enjoyment of the plane. For flying around the boat, I'd still recommend autorudder for the occasional "Right for Lineups".

Deacon

Re post 401, when I press shift F4 for the 2D auto-pilot, I also get a black square. Does the community have a fix for this?

Otherwise, a wonderful add-on; my 72 year old Dad flew them and I can't wait to give him a drive when he next visits.

Regards,

Mark

Mark, replace the [Window03] section in your panel.cfg file with these lines:

[Window03]
Background_color=1,1,1
size_mm=463,90
window_size_ratio=1.000
position=7
visible=0
ident=10003
window_size= 0.396, 0.090
window_pos= 0.310, 0.910
type=special

gauge00=B737_800!autopilot, 0,0,463,90

Thank you, perfect for a transit whilst I set up for the exercise.

Pity that FSX HMS Eagle was never released ( that I can find anyway), which would be as close as you could get to HMAS Melbourne. Will just have to keep practising traps on Ark Royal.

Bought this bird last night, should have a chance to fly it tommorow evening. As for the Melbourne, I've been tinkering with one occasionally for about a year, still a very long way off I'm afraid and behind the Bonaventure on the slipways.

What? A Bonnie? How awesome is that!!!

Anyway - back to the matter at hand - does anyone know where SkyhawkA4M's VA-212 and USMC schemes are at? They look just superb - would really like these.

Kind regards!

sorry I haven't responded but I will get my repaints ready for release later this week. One they are ready and I have links for download...I will make it known here and will message links to those who want them. I am only offering them here in this manor because I don't want them out on any sites. I know I'm kinda wierd about it I guess. I just don't want anyone taking credit for my work, and that of another gent who dia a shading layer for me.

Of interest in this image is the variation of thw white sploiers on the QG-00 bird. Not many units had them painted this way and only a few of 131's birds had them this way. The 211 bird is the standard way of painting the the fuselage color.

Worked on this Draken Intl repaint today. I based it off of Kade Bellaney's RNZAF A-4K skin with some of my own tweaks. If I can get his permission to post it, I'll do so. He didnt place an email address in his README.

Just a question. Has anyone had any luck trying to get air show smoke (keypad "I" toggle) to show up on the Blue Angel A-4? The only smoke that shows is the normal engine smoke trail. I tried some tweaking and it was either all or none and I could not toggle it on or off (it just stays on). Any ideas? Thanks! A great plane to fly!

Dude,

That takes me back. Love those repaints Skyhawk!

I dug these out of an old shoebox. Sorry for the crappy pic quality...as a Lieutenant I couldn't afford much camera. ;)

Wow...very cool! Knopw those birds well. 160024 wound up being QG-00 and was the final M model to fly in MARINE service....I had a small hand in helping to paint the special paint put on her. she's on display in NC somewhere now.
