.CDP

Rioker, did you delete the .CDP file in the aircraft's main folder before you tried to fly? If not, you need to do that.
 
Rami. Yep, must have mis-filed that one!

Whats kinda funny is that after doing some googling I ran across the info that Reg's Hangar is now the official host of GroundCrew. But the first time I went there, I looked and looked but did not see the link to the GroundCrew section. Clicked on your link and the first thing I see is the Groundcrew link at the top of the page.

I am clearly not aging well.

sorry if I'm a little(or a lot) annoying, I deleted the .CDP and cleaned the recycle bin to be sure, but it don't works :crybaby:, I think that the game searches for a model on the folder of weapons of SCENEDB or for a .dp file in Objects_DP folder... or my CFS2 installation hate the Catalinas :icon_lol:
 
Rioker, I just checked my scenedb\weapons\scenery folder and yer right, there's a 3tube.bgl there. Problem is I don't know where it comes from. If you have it there, try deleting the filelist.dat file and fire up the sim again. That might be the problem.

and NO yer not annoying in the least.

thanks, I looked the folder and I don't have the .bgl file... lol!!!!!
 
AHA!!

Therein lies your problem. Try adding these. The .dp file to your objects_dp folder and the .bgl file to your scenedb/weapons/scenery folder. Don't forget to delete the filelist.dat file from the scenery folder.

I didn't see anything that looked like a fit in the scenedb/weapons/texture folder so these might be all you need.

If you download the .zip file linked in my signature, it is an excel file that lists a number of .bgl objects with authors and working download sites. Quite handy to know where that particular bomb is or what weapon pack it belongs to. Not ALL objects for CFS2 are there, some are still without a link, but I think that the most usual ones are included.

JL, I should've looked in your excel file, I have it somewhere but forgot to look for it. I've re-downloaded it and will make sure I remember where the heck I put it this time.

I just moved to a new apartment and I've been lookin' for stuff since I got here. I KNOW I've got a pair of clean socks somewhere:isadizzy:.....just where is a whole 'nuther question.

Hi guys.....is somebody doing a rework on this airplane? Just curious. Thought I'd try adding some rockets under the wings, no problem.....altered the .dp accordingly so they'd show up, etc. but ran into a problem when I fired them; They just disappear instantly, they don't fire. How can I correct this?

As usual, any help will be greatly appreciated.

You need to add a new gunstation for the rockets (just like the one for the bombs and torpedoes), with the maximum number of rockets that the plane will carry.

I usually do all this stuff with DPed, so I'm not sure of what you have to add if you do it with a text editor, but from an already made dp it's something like this:

gunstation.x=2,-1,4,0,320,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0

[guns.x]
gun.0=6,0,0,0,0,0,0,6

I was lookin' at Caleb Ferk's guide to .dp editing and did look through the gunstations bit, but my eyes started glazing over and I couldn't grasp it. This is a great help, Pal.

I don't know if it did or not, however some later (much later) PBY's I believe did. I've just got this thing for rockets......the PBY carried bombs, smoke floats, rescue gear, torpedoes, depth charges, sonar stuff.....heck it even had ejection seats for the waist gunners (noooooo it didn't:jump:)....so I thought, what the hey.....why not rockets? In fact, I like 'em so much that I'm thinkin' about mounting 'em on ma wee automobile, lol.:icon_lol:

It would bear some investigation in order to know whether or not it in fact ever did carry rockets, but my guess is that some lonely ol' PBY somewhere did. I would never underestimate the resourcefulness of the U.S. Serviceman. Please don't quote me on this, though, I'm just havin' fun. This particular model was easy to fit because the hardpoints were already there so I thought I'd play with it a bit.
