Warbirdsim Mustang for FSX - Download

I don't have the product but I have been watching this thread for quite some time. I have been astonished at the arrogant behaviour of the proprietors in the face of so much adverse publicity...although delivered by the anxious purchasers awaiting activation or download links in incredibly polite and restrained language.

John it's time this madness ceased. I have been a great admirer of yours, for your repaints and work on the SOH A26 community project but it's time for sanity, good manners and respect for genuine purchasers to prevail before the whole business of the FsX Warbirdsim farrago demeans your business and more importantly Flightsim in general with this dreadful state of affairs.

Respectfully,

Roger.

I'm really breaking a personal rule I set for myself doing this....:isadizzy:

The vendor needs to get involved here. You have an obvious problem, and saying nothing won't solve it. Customer service will make or break you, and customer service is a h$## of a lot more work than making the model. I've seen it firsthand. Silence is death.

I hate to see such a well done piece of work go to waste like this :frown:

Checking Warbert's profile it looks like the last activity was on Monday. Wonder if there could have been some kind of massive computer failure? Judging from other's experiences it sounds doubtful, but right now that's pretty much the only thing I see that would help Warbirdsim "save face"

There really does need to be some serious damage control.

Sad thing is, the Mustang is a quality product that would take care of itself and would probably need very little in the way of customer support other than getting the activation codes out in a timely manner...

I've been thinking about getting this model for some time now, but after reading this thread I'm hesitant to purchase the DL version. Has anyone purchased the DVD version and had any problems with Warbirdsim?

Hey all, <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
It is definitely unfortunate to have to continue to hear reports from delays in activations, and then follow-up problems with security once the plane is activated. I'm the developer for Warbirdsim - that is what I do, nothing really much more. I however don't want to be spending the 6-8 hour days I am, building these aircraft, spending just as much time if not more in researching the heck out of them, and then hear this. I've sent e-mails to those in charge, with no response yet myself, which lends me to believe that there is computer trouble on the other line, preventing access to sorting these troubles at this current time.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
I will be completely honest in saying that due to the reports, I would like to throw out the security all together and move in a more positive direction forward, without it. Life would certainly be better for me, and I need it with this next release coming - that, and a couple of stiff drinks. We'll just have to see what can be done. For those who blatantly scrutinize without justification, I have no time for, but I have very real concern and shared frustration for any customer who is not enjoying the product as I had wanted them to, and I will be working hard to make things better.<o:p></o:p>

To Fireball6, to Darrell, to Jan Kees, I am confident that everything will be sorted as soon as possible. As you know, I am here periodically throughout the day, so nothing goes amiss, and I try to get things reported as soon as I believe they need my input. I will be staying with you till these items are sorted.

John,

Please add me to your list of persons with issues. Though certainly not the longest of this group, I've been waiting for an activation code since 04 -Jan.

John ,

please know that I have no problems with your part of the package, i.e. the model itself, in fact I love(d) it! It even looks good when I paint it...well it did until it disappeared..
It's everything outside of your model that is causing me grief,
the 39 steps activation (like a Hitchcock movie?), the price, the poor communication, the fact that you can't see it in recorder/aircraft window,
having such overwhelming anti piracy measures that even if you pay for it, you're lucky if you can use it, little things like that...
The D will be a warbirdsim release as well? Oh dear...

Hello John - thank you very much for you statement here - I understand your part of this, but i am sorry to say that i could not understand why customers get no download-link in an acceptable time - I have done everything i can to send your company all information that show warbirdsim that i am a customer that had paid for the Mustang - but i feel handeld like a pirate!

Someone from Warbirdsim should be able to answer my question - why it is not possible to send me a download-link for a purchased Addon !

As i stated befor I did not want to have the Mustang anymore - I want my money back
!!!!

I am angry about myself that i have try to buy this beautyfull FSX-Addon - but now it is only a nightmare for me and I think many others ....

Dirk, when you have paid with a credit card or via Paypal, I think you can ask your mony back via these organisations, as the product was not delivered.

Interesting read. I seriously thought about buying it, as this seems to be a superb recreation of the P-51. Too bad.
The description was really promising.

I bought it shortly after the sale started, everything went through smoothly and I was fully activated in 2 days. Great, I thought, no problems at all, so I bought it again for my father as a birthday present - and now I wish I hadn't:isadizzy: Everything done properly but no activation. In fact, the only communication since then has been an email stating that support would resume on January 4th. Ah well.

Once they have sorted out this problem, is it worth the money? From the description it looks at there's not a single WB that comes close.....

Oh yes, definitely if you get it at the sale price - possibly at the normal price. It's a really good representation of the mustang and just lends itself to being thrown around:

It has its faults, most of which are covered here - only things I haven't heard mentioned are that I can't get the radios to work except by using Ctrl E after starting. The old style radio switches do not appear to be clickable, so there's not a way of turning the power on for the radios. I may very well be wrong on this, but cannot find the radios referred to in the manual either!

Bomber, thank you very much. As I have told you via PM and others in this thread, your model is great, the upgrades you have spoken about sounds like it'll make the package even greater, and I'm sure the D model will be superb as well. I do hope you can get everything sorted to release it in a different manner, you deserve better sales support thru your vendor than it appears you have received so far.

Darrell

John,

Might you please add me, along with JohnC, to the list of people who are anxiously awaiting some sort of response from our friends at Warbirdsim.

Your contributions to the community have earned you great credit. When purchasing, I knew the problems reported over the threads during Christmastime. But was willing to take a chance on your behalf. So now grinning and bearing it.

Still, it would be wonderful to get a chance to see your P-51B in its actual glory. Awaiting activation...

Thanks,
Mike MacKuen

BTW. Jan Kees' problems suggest more worries. Is the "security system" set up at all for re-activation? Given the current rate of hard drive failures and malware-induced crashes, a re-activation procedure would seem necessary for a good business model.

I'm going to stick my oar in too John.

I sent two emails to the publisher asking them to address my concerns about activation and pointing them to threads here at SOH. Both were replied to stating that all activations were up to date, but both were also nameless replies.

No matter what company I'm dealing with in any business, it always makes me nervous when the person I'm dealing with feels unable to give their name.

It's a shame your fantastic model is being marred by appalling customer support, as I'm also one of the customers that have been lost due to it.

My money has now been spent elsewhere.

I've been waiting for awhile for the price to come down to a sane level. Now that it is the download issue's are causing me to hold off.....bummer!!

I just thought about buying this Addon (despite the enormous Price).
It would have been my second Addon at all (im a Newbie).
My first Addon was from Classics Hangar wich i could download 10 minutes after paying via Paypal.
But after reading about all those customers which getting trouble to use an Addon they already paid for i decided to wait for A2A´s Pony.
Probably a non-existing Customer service will end up in non-existing Customers:isadizzy:
Just my thoughts.
