Warbirdsim Mustang for FSX - Download

They knew what they were doing, with all their security I don't suppose anybody can point me to a pirated version...?

Oddly enough, no! Not that I'm an experienced searcher of such things, but I can't find it anywhere. The security seems to have defeated everybody, including (so it seems) Warbirdsim themselves. I can still manage to feel a little bit sorry for them - they had a dream and never set out to leave people short. I will probably change my mind when I get a new PC and want to re-activate.

Jan that is some interesting reading you linked there.

I don't really understand the workings of internet commerce but would it be benificial to report to the company hosting his site that they are now hosting a fraudulent site that is charging people money for a product they are not providing?

I feel so bad for the people scammed in this.

And its still going on it seems...

I would not buy this with my best friends money now I think...

Thank you Henry for making this thread a sticky. I will see what i can do here in Germany against Warbirdsim - will contact the German Federal Police (BKA) to hear what we have to do. What make me angry is the fact that they send emails until the 10. January and ask for numbers - thats very brash.

Hope this thread take his part for a few people to save their money

How about changing the topic name to something like:

SCAM SCAM DO NOT BUY!!!!

or whatever... it also could have even more exclamation marks:salute::salute:

Hmm, the mail adresses seem to be reactivated. i still got no reply fom them, but when I send a mail there, no error message comes back. So maybe they are delivered correctly...

We will see if there is any reaction...

Even if they do respond, it doesn't change their way of doing business and it doesn't change the way they treated their customers...

It is very disappointing to see that no one has responded on their behalf. I was considering buying these at their sale price, but I am glad I didn't.

Hopefully those involved with the P-51 will take their talents elsewhere. I'd still love to purchase these in the future.

Confirmed, just sent a mail and it seems they are now receiving them.

A sticky is definitely warranted, but it might be beneficial from non-paying parties to calm down just a touch. I haven't heard from them since Sunday, which is less than a week. One fellow claimed to have not heard from them between December (purchase point) until the 9th. While you might have serious personal objections in how customers are treated, I think it's a little early to assume they have gone out of business and are flat out robbing flight simmers.

It's entirely possible that so many people jumped on the sale price (I sure did), that Activation, Re-Activation, and help-requests filled their mailbox, and that caused emails to bounce. For those of you who have purchased and have not received download links, I won't hand out anything other than my sincere condolences. But after having purchased a copy on the 4th, and actually receiving an activation on the 9th (still waiting on the reactivation since my OS crashed), it might be beneficial to just sit tight until the end of the weekend.

Strange if that was directed at me as I'm perfectly calm about this. Having forked out £45 on this package I have a vested interest as to what's going on here though.

Nope, just directed at this thread in general. Should have clicked the standard reply.

Hey H...let me hold a dollar...I got a plane to buy...:173go1:

I agree Douglas..its hard if you paid , and got no activation, but maybe time best spent is learning the whole truth here !

Just to let everyone know, I just got my email and I am now activated. Here is the text I got at the bottom o fmy email

Due to recent treacherous weather conditions in the UK it was not possible
to
respond to emails as we had planned. With the recent rains we are seeing
things
back to normal so we apologise for any delays as a result of the snow and
ice.

Thank you for being patient. A large number of people are upgrading to Win
7
and with PCs as gifts there are many asking for additional support as a
result.

Assuring you of our attention at all times.

...but maybe time best spent is learning the whole truth here !

And there you've hit the snag. With a company as secretive and evasive as this, how does anyone find the truth out? If the company was registered, you'd be able to find contact details and directors' names at Companies House. It isn't, so you can't. If it's a partnership or a sole trader, they don't need to register, but have none of the protection under law that they would have if it was a registered company. I somehow doubt that the people unable to use what they have paid for here care a whole lot about the financial protection of Warbirdsim so that's not really a factor.

Reporting them to their local council's trading standards department requires an address to know which TS department to talk to. They say you can contact them for further company details (if they decide your reason for wanting it is good enough!) but they don't seem to answer e-mails particularly quickly at the moment.

If a customer has paid and not received the contracted goods then they could report it to the UK Police as a fraud, but it's worth remembering that most customers who have paid for the package have received activation codes. Not always in a timely manner, but many have got them same day or within a couple of days. The people who still haven't received activations seem to be the exception, rather than the rule, although that's cold comfort to them, I'm sure most people understand.

jankees's situation is odd in that his should still work, but doesn't because of a technical problem caused by the security system. He did, however, have a working product before modifying it by adding repaints.

I have asked someone with far more and better contacts than me if they will have a look and see what they can unearth. I still stand by my statements that Warbirdsim's behaviour is exceptionally suspicious and far from what I would expect from a reputable and honest organisation.

The person I really feel for, as others have said, is John, because a lot of this is coming down on his shoulders when none of the problems have been his doing.

Edit:

WHAT!?!? Sorry, but that's utter drivel.

Glad you got your activation, though. Now maybe someone from Warbirdsim would like to make a guest appearance here and explain themselves with a more realistic reason for their actions?
