Was There Going To Be A C-47 For FS9?

If you mean Manfred Jahn's latest, here's what Manfred posted on the CalClassic forum:
"If things work out as planned there will be an FS9 version "based on" the FSX version, using common (albeit half-size) texture sheets."

Big IF .... at this point. Especially the VC part was very much in doubt. But if anyone can do it it's Manfred.

Since I'm not a fan of vc's, I will be ecstatic for an FS9 version minus a vc. Manfred doesn't such outstanding work, always has.

I agree.I have put a lot of flight time in his Lancastrian and Turbo-Connie even though they lack a VC.

VC ?

Who needs a VC when the exterior looks this great :icon_lol:

I'll grovel on my bended knees to get this in a 2004 version ........ please :applause:

Pete.

For me a VC is a must...but there are a few airplanes that are welcome in my FS hangar without one. Especially if there is no other model out there that can fill the void.
YF-121 being one example of those....though I have not flow that one since I became involved with the L-1649A,L-1049 and L-749 series....all with a proper and functioning VC.

Porting this C-47 backwards to FS9 is not going to be easy...and it would possibly loose a lot in translation ... if nothing else the spectacular detail and texturing. Some things just can't be done in the older sim.

I do hope that Manfred can pull off another magic trick. I have nothing to do with the C-47 other than a few pics I supplied so I don't know what the exact problems would be.
But I suspect that if the FS9 model can't come at least close to the perfection that is the FSX gift, Manfred might be reluctant to go there.

Well, that would of course be a developer's decision to be understood and respected!
Just because with the MAAM Dak, there's a still awesome C-47 rendition to be compared with...

I'd love to see Manfred's and team's "Dizzy Three" in our FS9 world, even if it obliged me to do lots of repaints all over again... :jump:

Cheers,
Markus
