Friday, we sent our "beloved" 1996 Chevy Corsica to the junk yard...which is where it needed to be. Got $200 from the junk yard for it...which is $199.95 more than it was worth as a vehicle.
Today, thanks to a friend of my sister-in-law, we have a new set of wheels. Rosco had a minivan for sale and being a friend and new business partner to my sis-in-law, he was willing to allow us to make payments on the van..seeing as all we had to our name was the $200 from the junking of the Corsica. $200 today, and a hundred a month until it is paid off...unless we can kick more out each month.
The vehicle: 1994 Plymouth Grand Voyager LE. 3.3 liter V-6. 200 thousand miles...but the van has been very well maintained and gently used. Needs a few things here and there, but nothing major. Ran a bit rough on the way home, but it hasn't been driven for about 7 months. Dark blue and with gold ground effects...Go Michigan! Not that I am a Michigan fan, or really give 2 cents for football, but since my sis-in-law is a diehard OSU fan, I am going to have to slap a few Michigan stickers on the van just to get her goat.
Won't be able to drive the van for a couple weeks...have to wait for pay day to get it registered and insured. But it is nice having wheels again.
