• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Flying on Autopilot
A few weeks back the messages for brakes and exits stopped showing. Parking brake and slew are fine but it's affecting messages from programmes like arrcab too. Now I'm not bothered by that really but the brakes themselves have stopped working now. They start off fine then after a while just stop working. It's not my joystick because the keyboard doesn't work either. Everything else is fine although I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that I've never been able to get shift-e-2 to open secondary exits. I don't recall adding anything new when it started happening. Does anyone know what I've done wrong or is FS just messing with my head again. Thanks.

Messages are displayed by the language.dll file, perhaps reinstate that if you can.
And check "keyboard assignments" for secondary exits.
Having said that, I noticed a couple of Window updates messed with my joystick assignments, so may be a factor too.

Messages can be disabled within settings of the FS9.cfg file. The file also retains any settings for your controller. So, if you are experiencing problems with both display settings and the controller settings, my assumption is that something has altered your FS9.cfg file.

You also mentioned that the brakes work fine, but then stop working. This could be related to a system failure setting. Although I have no system failure set on my setup, I've seen this altered as well. Anyways, check these settings which I believe are also saved as part of the FS9.cfg (note to self: need to confirm comment :salute: )

If you check your control stick assignments and find things have changed, then restore you settings. When you are satisified with all your settings, I recommend creating a backup of your FS9.cfg for future reference or restoration.
